    I am just curious if I have to expect to see many changes from 2010 format to 2011… If there is anyone who already has taken the exam in 2011, could you please share your experience? Does 2010 Becker CPA review pretty much cover everything for the new format? any comments? your reply would be greatly appreciated.

    @32CPA

    Thanks for your report. Without giving away specifics, I was wondering if you came across any questions on ethics? As it was supposedly moved to AUD.

    I am also using the 2009 Becker, but I have heard that the 2011 Becker did include some ethics.

    @32CPA thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. 2011 Becker study material already adjusted their calculator and it showing the running tape as well which i found very cool. I do have a question for you though…. Did you get a lot of business structure questions? I know that AICPA moved the business structure to REG but for whetever reason i feel like they won't test it that much. I have already passed BEC but i have forgotten everything and really dont feel like restudying the whole chapter again. Do you think that just reading over it will be enough or i need to learn it again?

    BEC – 77 (May 2010)

    FAR – 83 (Aug 2010)

    AUD – 89 (Nov 2010)

    REG – Feb 28, 2011

    @CPAbefore30… I'm not allowed to say that I did or did not receive bus structure questions… I will say though that I wasted way too much time studying BEC 1 for it. I went through all the questions from BEC 1 and didn't look at the book. Just questions.

    Of course, I hear that the earlier the exam you take the less change there is… that they are incorporating it more and more through the year.

    BEC - Pass 10/2010
    FAR - Pass 10/2010
    AUD - Pass 11/2010
    REG - Pass 05/2011

    I'm posting this while sitting outside the testing center…to me, REG has become more difficult in comparison to last windows exam I took! Hopefully its because i did good and the exam got harder as i progressed through the testlets..if not then oh well, ill try again.. I'll have to wait and see what the score is..

    @PR_CPA_2B, I agree. I was just as prepared for REG as I was for the other tests, all of which I took last window. REG was harder though (but FAR easily takes the cake for hardest sim). Hopefully, like you said, we did well on the first testlet and the difficulty increased.

    I took REG today, and am nervous for opposite reasons than most: I didn't feel like my exam was hard enough. I feel that this is a bad sign. On top of that, I very well know the questions I received were easily answerable but for whatever reason, I didn't know some of them and I should have. So it's not that the exam felt easy for me because I knew it, it just felt easy because the questions were very short and could have been easy to answer. I was able to answer kinda alot of them, but I am mad at myself that I had the opportunity to answer more of the simple questions and couldn't. I read that someone had paragraph length questions, and I didn't have this. So for this reason, I am very nervous!

    On a lighter note, to those who have yet to take REG, I enjoy the simulations much more now in this new format. They are short (don't be scared by 7 testlets) for the most part, and it feels like you only have one simulation to complete instead of two as was the case before. Also, not having to worry about writing as a time killer is nice!

    What is the “rule” with the simulations testlet, 6 or 7 simulations? I see that NCP got 7 simulations but I only got 6. Not that I wanted more, but I'm curious about it. One other thing, are the sims based on performance on the first 3 testlets of mcq's?

    How long did you guys give yourselves for the SIMS? Did you run out of time or did you have time left over?

    BEC 7/20/10 88 (90 hours)
    AUD 8/27/10 73 (65 hours), retake 11/22/10 81 (75 hours)
    FAR 10/28/10 80 (157 hours)
    REG 1/7/10 extended to 1/17/10 78 (130 hours) I'M DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    @Ness – I finished with an hour left but I'm not the best person to ask. FAR was the test where I was most pressed for time, and I had 45 minutes left when I finished.

    This doesn't mean I'm smarter, just faster.

    Wordtoyourmotha- did you feel like business law was truly 17-21% of the test? Also, were the business law questions at the same level of difficulty/easy as Becker's questions?

    Thanks!

    @jessmile14

    I assume by “business law” you're referring to the last 3 chapters in Becker. I'd say it was more than that, but there was definitely more tax. Questions were about the same difficulty as Becker; I was expecting them to be easier.

    I'm sorry, 6 task based simulations and 1 research.

    I had 1 1/2 hrs after the MC for the simulation and could reasonably do it in an hour.

    Also, I felt business law was a bigger portion of the exam than was suggested as well.
