I am happy, but now it seems so “real.” Now to figure out when to take Regulation.

The first week of January is available – I could sit 1/6, which is right before my classes start up again. It would give me roughly 3.5 more weeks to study. That just seems so soon!

I could also take on the 14th, which is a Saturday. My husband wouldn’t have to take a day off if I do it on a Saturday. However, my classes start back the 9th, so the last week before the exam would be rough.

How did you decide when to schedule yours?

    REG - 89
    BEC - 82
    FAR - 87
    AUD - 81
Used CPAexcel, Wiley Online Practice, and NINJA!

schedule it as far away from today as possible, give yourself as much time to prepare. No sense trying to maneuver it around school, etc. if you're going to have to repeat it. If you are only taking REG in the first window maybe even go for February to give yourself more prep time.

Don't stress over school and the exam at the same time. If you have the right mindset it is no big deal. I work full time, have a part time job, go to school (actually finished last monday) and have 2 kids and did this.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

My timeline won't allow me to put it off that long – I need to be done by the end of May (or early July at the absolute latest.) I will be taking FAR at the end of February, then BEC mid-April, and AUD at the end of May.

I am currently a SAHM, so no outside job, but I do have extensive responsibilities outside of normal SAHM stuff. After this weekend, I have 3 solid weeks of full-time study available and I am halfway through CPAexcel REG program. On the parts I have finished, I am hitting 75-85% on Wiley questions.

The 14th is about the latest I want to go if I want to take FAR at the end of Feb. My study plan in CPAexcel has me taking the exam on the 6th and I am on target at this point, but still a little unsure.

    BEC - 82

3.5 weeks is plenty. I did REG in that time (see below–actually took about 1 week less than that since I had school exams). If you are able to study full-time and put in around 100 hours, you should be good to go!

Be prepared to make sacrifices though. Would you rather make serious sacrifices and be done in a few months, or would you rather take it kind of easy and be more likely to have to retake sections and stretch out the pain? It's your choice, but the answer seems obvious to me.

If I were you, I would probably hit REG in late January. Then BEC in late Feb. FAR in mid April. Finally, AUD in late May. This gives you about 6 weeks for each section so you'll be fine and would adjust up and down a week for FAR/REG and AUD/BEC, respectively. Good luck!

    BEC 86 (08/30/11)
    FAR 84 (10/13/11)
    REG 88 (11/08/11)
    AUD 86 (11/29/11)

btw, I passed my exams this semester while in school, so it will be tough to balance the two but that just forces you to be extra disciplined and focused and to plan things out well in advance. If you can manage that, you will be great!

    BEC 86 (08/30/11)
    FAR 84 (10/13/11)
    REG 88 (11/08/11)
    AUD 86 (11/29/11)

    Thanks!

I was planning to take FAR next because I am taking Adv. Financial Accounting this term, so I would being studying the same topics. I take Advanced Auditing starting in March. I may have to fit BEC in at the beginning of July (I just wanted to be done before then, so we will have to see how it goes.

I've already spent 3 weeks on REG (hitting it hard) and lightly the 2 weeks before that.

Do you think BEC is significantly easier? Is that why you suggested it next?

I personally went FAR AUD REG BEC. I thought FAR was good to start off with first because there is some FAR in AUD and BEC none in REG though.

I don't think order matters that much so you should be fine.
