I am taking REG tomorrow. I am grossly underprepared as I have not even gone through half of the Wiley book. I have been doing some MCQs but almost no simulation problems… I have not covered corporate and partnership taxation and only one third of individual taxation. I know I am doomed :((( I never realized REG is going to be the hardest one for me :((

    FAR - 89
    AUD - 84
    BEC - 84
    REG - 49, 86
    ETHICS - 96........ DONE!!!

Good luck! I'm taking FAR tomorrow and feeling pretty unprepared also. I have only been studying for about 3 weeks although it has been full time since i'm off work right now to study. Hopefully we'll both get lucky and do better than we think we're going to do! I would just do as many MCQs today as you can. I am in tax so I knew a lot of the tax stuff already but I didn't read the book or listen for the lectures for REG, just did lots of MCQs over the course of about 12 days and passed with an 87.

Don't forget to use the AU for the sims! I had 2 whole SIMS for REG that I found 100% of the answer in the AU (besides the research question).

    @ CPA.hopeful.2013:

I am really frustrating about the SIMS because WTB SIMS did not provide anything in the form except Line1, Line2, in Form 6251. Is this real exam scenario or Real exam provides Full form to fill the numbers?

If the real exam didn't provide any forms means do we need to memorize those lines?

If its a part of disclosure about the exam, please forgive me 🙁

Really scared that I am going to get stuck on REG. This is my last exam :(( then there is that time pressure of expiring credits 🙁

    AUD - 84
    BEC - 84
    REG - 49, 86

    @Targetcpa

I'm not sure if that would be exam disclosure so I better not say anything. Sorry!

What were you going to say that could be construed as an exam disclosure?

    FAR - 89
    AUD - 84
    BEC - 84
    REG - 49, 86
    ETHICS - 96........ DONE!!!

I agree with CPAhopeful. I found stuff in the literature that mirrored my sim questions. Leave plenty of time for REG. With the multiple choice you either know it or you don't. Best guess and move on to sims where you at least have a chance to look up some info to lead you to an answer.

Those were the questions that I wasn't sure if I could answer.

Target CPA, the chance of you seeing an actual tax form on the exam are pretty slim; Roger's CPA review is clear on this. You need to know how to apply given tax information to the appropriate form.

    B -
    A - passed
    R - passed
    F - passed

I just can't get through that freaking book. My reading speed has slowed down drastically. Sometimes I can only read 1 page in a hour!!!! I am not sure what is wrong with me :(((

    FAR - 89
    AUD - 84
    BEC - 84
    REG - 49, 86
    ETHICS - 96........ DONE!!!

I think we can safely say, though, that you're not expected to have memorized what line is what on each form, mostly because this can change! Maybe on some forms, but not generally speaking. I don't think I have seen questions in any test bank which are of the form “What figure belongs on Line 5 of Form 4868” unless Form 4868 was pictured there; however, it might say “What would be included in Total 2013 Payments (Line 5 Form 4868)?”

Note that my memory is terrible so I can't remember anything from my REG exam last year – I remember WAY more from the test banks than the real exam. (Something about blocking traumatic memories? I heard something about that in Psych class… 😉 ) So, this is truly based on the fact that I've never seen a test bank with a question like that, and test banks are based off released questions, so it seems doubtful that you'd see a question like that on the exam!
