was that the 2nd or 3rd time through those questions? I’ve seen a lot of people chat about the 80% and assumed it was because they knew there stuff. I’m on my second round of REG Becker MCQs and am scoring in the high 70s. It makes me feel good, but I also know that I’ve seen these questions. My first time through I was barley scoring 50%.

    B 79
    A 75
    R 78
    F 85

I'm doing Wiley questions for the first time, and scoring in high 80s, similar to your range. I hope that means we'll pass!!

What a perfect topic to unleash my fury after taking REG yesterday.

My first time through the MCQ's, I didn't get below an 82% on tax and not below a 69% on a couple parts of Blaw but for most of Blaw I got in the 80s or 90s. My second time through I obviously got 90s.

However, after taking the exam yesterday, there were so many obscure and out of left field questions that I feel like Becker did not prepare me for. I only feel good about the Sims, which may be my saving grace. Like honestly, I could have skipped R1-R3 and done the same.

@CashEquivalents, I feel like everything that you've said, the other people on this forum that have said the same thing, have scored high 80's. I'm not kidding. Including a good buddy of mine—Him and I were on skype right after he took his exam, he was freakinggg out saying it was so ridiculous and unfair, that there were so many obscure and out of left field questions. I told him this was a good sign. He scored an 88.

To the OP. Sometimes the score doesn't matter if you don't know why each of the other answers are wrong! But since you did so well the first time through, this is a good sign, I'd assume. Before a test I definitely try to score 80's-90's. Good luck! REG is a beaaaast!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    @Cash

Honestly, I have a sick feeling in my stomach now. I didn't have the experience you did on the mcqc's on REG and I am feeling like I must have totally messed up. My questions were doable(difficult but doable, not out of left field), so that makes me feel like you probably did well and me–NOT SO MUCH!! It does seem like most people who have taken this exam and have done well had an experience like you did–at least, that is where my memory is taking me. UGH, I am starting to totally freak out now!!

In general, I do not recall getting many mcqs from out of left field and I know that there are other people who have had similar experiences and passed. Everyone's perception of the types of questions on the exam is varied, based on his/her own personal feelings. Don't let the fact that you don't feel you had questions from out of left field cause you to feel that that means it's more likely you didn't pass. You really worked hard for this and don't let other people's experiences cause you to freak out!! There's a really good chance you passed no matter what other people feel about their exams!! And people with experiences disimilar to yours also pass the exams, so there's really no way to tell until the scores come out.

    Hope everyone here passes!

I'm taking the exam in less than a week…were there more questions on b-law than tax???

I'm on my second and third time through some topics and still scoring in the 60-75% range, sometimes as low at 55% (this is for REG). I've never scored this low on MCQ this close to an exam. I did give myself about two weeks less than I had originally planned to study but I feel awful about my exam coming up.

Anyone use Gleim and Wiley, score in the 60-75% range and still pull off a 75?

I use Wiley Online Test Bank. I usually start out awful and then progress as I use study mode.

One thing I do is just repeat the tests and learn from my mistakes. Normally I take 20-25 tests. Around the 10th test I start getting passing scores and by the 20th I'm in the 80+% range consistently and feel ready to take the real thing on.

Of course it is not the only study method I use. I do read the textbooks and use practice quizzes on CPAReviewforfree.
