So I’ve been studying for REG for the past 1.5 months and im going to take it in July. i have other friends who are taking their tests now and a couple found out they passed their exams (FAR). Now im super happy for them because i know the work they put into it but it kinda makes me sad and brings down my confidence when I hear it because I’ve failed an exam twice. I’ve taken AUD twice and failed both, but i have passed BEC. Its just that i see how much work im putting in and i dont get those results and when i hear my friends put in as much or less work and pass it just sucks for me. I know its wrong to feel this but anyone else ever felt this before? And dont get me wrong, again I was genuinely happy for my friends but im just like GAHHH!!! why cant i pass?!?! 🙁

This is awkward because I'm sort in your friend's position. I know a few friends who are also studying for the CPA and I managed to ahead of the game by passing the one of the exam while my friends are still struggling. Yes I feel good about myself passing the exam, but at the same time I feel kind of guilty and bad for leaving them behind, and indirectly making them feel nervous and doubtful of their ability to pass.

My suggestion is to just be focused on what you need to do to pass. Try not to feel pressured to do well just because of your friends accomplishments and don't feel doubtful of your ability to pass the exam because because in reality, there will be many people who will have to retake the exam before they pass and there will also be people who will pass on their first try. That's just the way life is =/

When I was still on exam #2, few of my friends were already on exam #4. They just know how to cram in a short period of time and pass an exam. I on the other hand need to feel confident when walking into prometrics so I study a bit longer. You also have to realize that some folks are born smart/high IQ (I know it's not fair). Just study on your own pace, stick to a plan, and you'll pass in no time.

    FAR - Passed
    AUD - Passed
    BEC - Passed
    REG - 8/22/2013

@Divesh do not let this get to you! I have been there! I found out this week the girl I baby sat for when she was 8-11 has graduated college and passed the exam and I am still not done! Am i happy for her sure, am i slightly jealous hell yeah! I try to remind myself that you can't compare yourself to others, work at you pace, do what you need to do. It is so easy to say and so hard to do. But try to Put on a happy face to them congratulate them and then come on here and vent and get ready to kick that exams a$$!

Good luck, you will get there and when you do your celebration will mean that much more!

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement. My family tells me too that everyone is different and that everyone retains information differently some taking longer to succeed than other. I just have to put in the time. But damn as i look at it now its just a little scary. Still super depressed about REG and all the info but this forum really helps me out with questions and just stories of others that bring me up again. LETS DO THIS!
