I failed REG with a 66. It blows my mind because I thought I had passed for sure. I’ve got Audit and Reg left. I was planning on taking audit the second week of October. Should I cancel that and start studying REG again and take it in early October or try REG again after audit toward the end of October?

If I was you I'd do Reg in the beginning of Oct and move audit. You're more likely to forget info if you wait a few months – at this point you'd basically be reviewing material. It might help to think of this as an extended review period for Reg – it's a little less frustrating maybe…?

I would take REG near the beginning of the window and move AUD to the end of November. AUD goes quicker than the other sections b/c there's virtually no calculations. You can fly through the MCQ's when you're studying. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. I am truly devastated at this score because I thought I had it for sure. Not sure how I only got a 66% that truly blows my mind. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated I'm having a hard time tonight

I'm sorry you failed. It sucks and can really bring you down hard.

I agree with the other suggestions and advise that you try REG again. REG felt like it was about knowing details, lots of details. I would give yourself at least 4 weeks to restudy. Do lots of multiple choice. Don't give up.

Also, take a day or two off. Clear your mind. Then get mad and do some intense study.

    Best of luck.

I just found out I failed REG with a 61. I studied with Becker, Wiley TB and Ninja…. Should I keep hitting all of the MCQs for another 4 weeks of “restudy”??

I would do more than just the MCQ. You should basically start over and go through all of the material again.

Take REG and move aud. Review for 1 month.

Stick to one source of material, Not multiple. I used Becker only.

When does your NTS for AUD expires? If you can delay AUD, I would do as Mini recommended. You just studied for REG; so go over everything twice and thrice… Study, review, repeat….

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84

Relax, take a deep breath…look at my scores on Reg.

I was in exactly your same shoes–scored a 66, I was ready to quit until I decided to go after it again. Study it like you haven't touched REG at all…which is to say study everything, skipping nothing.

Take some time to relax friend. It's doable.

I was feeling good about my MCQ, however, the moment when I saw SIMs, I know I will fail… I feel like i know nothing except the research one, worst feeling ever…

Any suggestions of how to study REG? I studied REG part-time after work for 5 weeks…

    AUD - 76 (May 2012)
    BEC - 81 (July 2012)
    REG - 61 (Aug 2012), rematch 83 (October 2012)
    FAR - 85 (May 2013)

    Based on Becker 2012 self-study.
Currently licensed PA CPA since July 2013.

personally i think that you should take it as early as possible to avoid relapses on your memory as usually information could only be stored in our brain for a certain period of time and the test wont get any easier so if you feel like you can manage to take the test as early as October for the Reg as the prior exam would probably still be fresh in your memory and this will help you in your reviewing process as well.
