I took the exam 2 days ago, and i still felt frustrated cuz i saw so many questions that I’ve NEVER seen in my becker or wiley test bank.

    .

I searched some after exams and found the answers by Google, just wondering if I have to reprepare for it which it’s obvious,:(, do I need to buy more materials? Wiley materials are so TOO much and Beckers are so under value for exams….

There will be questions not in the material. I am used to this… but are you saying there were subjects never mentioned? I normally see one or two very close questions to my material on my exam. Everything else is a different spin on the subject matter OR pretest. You can look up how many pretest questions are a part of each exam… I believe the AICPA website says or did I see in NINJA notes… I am not sure. But maybe these were all pretest. Sorry you felt this way, but I trust Wiley whole heartedly. Maybe try the book, Wiley book has more detailed questions than TB.

Don't assume you failed. I also had the feeling with all of the exams that there was stuff on them that totally came out of left field, that I'd never heard mention of in Becker, and I passed.

There is a certain element of luck in these tests, that you will get questions on enough things you studied to pass. And that you'll guess correctly on the rest of them. Particularly if your score ends up between 70 and 80, IMO, it has a lot to do with luck.

IF you have to retake it then you can evaluate if you need a different review course. I used Becker alone for BEC, REG and AUD, and then supplemented Becker with CPAExcel for FAR.

Best of luck to you and keep a good thought for a pass. 🙂

If you were frustrated that the exact questions were not the same as questions in Wiley or Becker, then I would clarify that the questions on the exams are *not* pulled from the test banks that we use to practice from. To my knowledge, AICPA never releases a question for study material until after they have finished using the question for the exam. So, if you see any questions on the exam that match or almost match questions in the test banks, then that's pure luck (or the prep course manufacturers have been taking the tests and “stealing” the questions illegally).

But if you meant the topics, then it is somewhat a luck thing. Wiley and Becker are both, overall, good curriculums…to find all the “hidden” topics, my best suggestion would be to look at the listing of topics in the AICPA candidate bulletins (I can't remember the specific name of the lists… 😐 ) and look up the topics elsewhere if you can't find them in Wiley or Becker.

And as evesocal said, you won't know whether you passed or failed till scores come out in August. I'd suggest studying for another section (maybe AUD – it's a common choice after REG), and wait till scores come out to see if you need to do REG. A break from REG could be a nice thing, regardless of whether you passed or not!

@littlenumberrobot: Ya,if you use wiley test book u will feel like u'r over preprared since it's really tooo much detailed and sometimes beyond the required points. I just get the questions done for wiley book so i guess next time i should reread the book as well. Thanks a lot!

@evesocal: ha, i saw your score is quite similar to mine, so I guess ya, if i feel this way it might end up with mid 70 or something, cuz i feel the same way for my FAR and AUD,which both turned out to be mid 70-80. Well, thanks a lot and i might consider the CPA excel for Reg? Is it a good choice?

@Elisabeth: Thanks elisabeth! I guess bulletin is still the best way to look up the required topics. I barely use it but now i feel it's so important. I meant the topics were actually covered in the real exams, but is just the way they ask about you is totally a different view or much more detailed that you never noticed.

    Really appreciate it!
