Does the Yaeger approach to REG work?

    With REG being as difficult as it is Phil seems to skip a lot of material. Anyone who has used Yaeger for REG please advise…does Phil’s approach work? Should I only focus on the materials he says to and do the MCQ he assigns or should I cover everything and do all MCQ?

    Any advice would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

    I started watching the videos, but Phil is all over the place and makes too many errors. I didn't like him at all so I ditched the videos half way through and just started doing MCQs. I passed with a 77. I did all the MCQs in the Wiley book and all the MCQs in the online test bank.

    Some people love him. I just felt like I wasn't getting anything out of the lectures with him. To each their own.

    EDIT: Do whatever you did to get those 2 awesome grades in your sig lol

    @Redrage

    So the wiley online test bank and the actual wiley book has different questions?

    B 2/12 87
    A 11/11 90
    R 8/11 86
    F 5/12 88

    @redrage were the wiley books and test banks your only study sources for 1) reg 2) rest of exams?

    I used Yaeger for everything. Yes it works!

    FAR-81
    BEC-84
    AUD-91
    REG-89

    REG was the only section where the Yaeger approach did not work for me. It worked for others though.

    @misanthrope87–the Wiley book and test bank have a little overlap of questions but not much. You definitely need the online test bank along with the book. I got the online bank 48% off when Jeff had a sale 🙂 Plus, it keeps track of your performance which the book won't for obvious reasons.

    @CannotPassAgain- Yeah, I pretty much just used the online test bank and book. I used Yaeger for FAR which was 51 freakin' hours of lecture! But if I could do it all over again I probably wouldn't have wasted the money on it. I found that the lectures didn't really do much for me and that I could pretty much teach myself the material. My studies for my exam have pretty much been to do non stop MCQs and to read the solution to why the answer is right and why the others are wrong. I'll find out next month if I went 4 for 4 with this approach 🙂

    Everyone is different though.

    Thank you all for your input.

    @RedRage00

    I did use the Yaeger approach for FAR because there was just too much material to try and cram it all in. In my opinion, Gary is great for AUD and I really missed him studying BEC. With REG I have just read so many peoples experiences on here with this monster and I was getting a little nervous with Phil's approach lol.

    @CPAMan

    I am sorry about your experience with REG. Hang in there though, I bet your next score for REG will bring different results for you.

    I was running out of time studying for REG so I HAD to go with “In Phil We Trust” (plus some bits of Wiley MCQs), and I passed. Yes, there were some items he didn't cover or cover in enough detail, but I passed. I didn't feel as prepared as I did with the other sections, but I passed. (Notice there is a theme to this response!)

    Yes. I used Yaeger for REG…and passed with 88.

    I followed all his directions except doing more than the mcqs he assigned which got me frustrated because I didn't know how to do anything that he didn't cover…that led to frustration and wheel spinning and confidence breaking…but on exam day when it counted, I owned it and probably didn't need to do the unassigned mcq…this was for 2010 exam.

    NEW YORK- DONE
