Hello,

I’ve been doing some practice TBS in CPA Excel, and some of the questions get quite a bit detailed (just an example, the various educational tax credits and their phaseouts). The CPA Excel literature tab has large portions of the IRC missing, including the sections related to the phase out thresholds, percentages, etc.

Does anyone know if the real CPA exam allows us to look at a fairly complete IRC for the TBS? It just seems really unlikely to me that a MC question is going to get nitpicky about phaseout thresholds on the different educational credits, and I’m not sure I’d be able to memorize all of the relevant data (already far too much in other sections) before I take REG on Monday.

When I took FAR, the codification seemed complete.

Actually, I just did the official practice REG exam for the AICPA and their literature section is much more detailed and different looking than CPA Excel… but the info was definitely there, just a bit harder to find.
