I’ve narrowed my CPA study program down to Roger and CPA Excel.

I know CPA Excel offers a lot of MCQs, flashcards, etc., however I wasn’t sure if they have enough video content.

For those who have used CPA Excel, did you find that they provided sufficient video content, or did you have to supplement?

I am a big audio+video learner (which is why I like Roger), so having sufficient videos is key for whatever program I choose.

    REG - 78
    BEC - 79
    FAR - 71, 78
    AUD - 67, 85

    Hi UConn_CPA,

This is the first time I've ever posted, but I am currently using CPA Excel and thought this might help you. I, like you, narrowed it down to CPA Excel and Roger. I ended up going with Excel because my school was offering a big discount. If you'll depend heavily on the videos, I recommend going with Roger. The Excel videos are most just someone reading from a slide and do very little in the way of explaining problems or giving helpful tips and tricks like Roger. The material for FAR and AUD was very good, but I didn't feel like the material on REG was as helpful. Also, while there are a lot of questions, it covers a lot of material, so sometimes I felt like there weren't enough questions on specific topics. If I had to do it over again, I would purchase Roger's program. One of my coworkers is using it, and she loves it. A couple of times I have sit with her and watched the videos, and I thought they were much better. I don't think CPA Excel is a bad choice. It's worked for me so far, but I think that Roger may be a little better. On a side note, I was having so much difficulty with Excel's reg section, I purchased the Reg ninja notes and they complemented each other very well. If you do go with Excel, you may want to consider the ninja notes. I hope this was helpful!

I agree with Chellecpa. Both are good, but Roger's videos are excellent. I started with CPAexcel and still like a lot of things about it, but Roger's stories and engertic presentation has helped me to manage my time better and power through the sheer volume of information. CPAexcel topics are more bite-size, but Roger's online format has changed and allows you to pause a 40 minute lesson, take the dog out, and resume right where you left off. Also, the textbook is now integrated so that you can see it on the screen during the lecture.

Typical lectures for RogerCPAreview are 15-25 minutes with some exceptions shorter/longer.
