Does anyone ever feel really ready for REG?

My test is next Thursday and I’m terrified, to say the least. I have been preparing like crazy, done close to 1200 MCQ’s, outlined chapters, listened to the lectures all the way through but I feel like I can’t keep anything straight. Maybe I’ve overstudied, if there is such a thing, but I felt good about the test until two days ago and now I’m really stressed out over it. Does anyone ever feel like they’re truly ready for this beast of a test?

AUD: PASSED [81]; Expired, retaking August 23rd
BEC: PASSED [83]; Expired, retaking July 11th
    REG: PASSED [83]

Ready is a broad term. If you define it as “know every single topic available to a T” that I highly doubt anyone truly feels “ready”.

However, if you describe “ready” as confident that you've done everything in your power to know as much material as you possible could have and left nothing on the table, then I've felt ready for every exam I took.

Ultimately depends on how you look at it.

    BEC - 83 | AUD - 85 | REG - 77 | FAR - 87

You aren't alone πŸ™‚ My unofficial estimate is that 99.9% of CPA candidates get at least a little nervous a few days before their test, even the most well-prepared among us.

Odds are you are better prepared that you think you are. Keep up the hard work and stay positive. It is night impossible to feel 100% confident before one of these tests- but I think you'll surprise yourself on test day. Good luck!

My reg exam is tomorrow and I feel SO unprepared! I go through waves of panic and confidence. Right now, it's panic. The simulations are just on a whole different level than where I am.

    R - *77*(02/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    A - 71('11); *87*(04/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    F - *76*(08/'13)-Becker & NINJA - "server upgrade" survivor
    B - 60('11); *82*(10/'13) -Becker & NINA

    DONE, DONE, AND DONE.

I failed REG twice in 2012 and have a rematch scheduled this Saturday. I just finished the first Becker final test and, man, I did not do good :(. Overall had that been my actual test it would have been aroun a 65. I was frustrated and logged onto these forums and see this thread at the top haha.

DNI and some of the corporate stuff (MACRS, 179, DRD) are still giving me trouble. Oh, and stupid PMSIs are killing me! I really hope that I can cram all this in before my exam at 5 on Saturday. Good luck to those who are taking this exam soon.

What makes REG so hard? I have just started studying for it and it seems much easier than FAR?

Three days until REG… this exam has me really nervous. When I went through the SIMs on the Wiley Test Bank, they chewed me up and spit me out.

MCQ's I'm feeling good about on the test bank… I've done over 2,000 MCQ's between the test bank and the Wiley book. Regardless, between the SIMs and all the nitty gritty stuff in Tax AND Blaw… I just feel like this exam is a beast.

However, I know I've given it my all. I've been full force for 10 weeks and, come exam day, will probably have about 250 – 275 hours studying under my belt give or take. If I fail, guess I just have to suck it up and get it next time.

    Good luck to everyone!!!

    FAR - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER)
    AUD - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)

    REG - 2013 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES + NINJA AUDIO)

My test is also next Thursday. I'm working my way through my notes (ended up with 119 pages of notes for REG – pretty detailed), re-working all the MCQs and SIMs. Each time I start a new MCQ/SIM set I feel like I've forgotten everything that I JUST went over in my notes. That's been the trend with tax, I'll have to see how bLaw goes when I get to it.

Definitely haven't been this stressed out since FAR. Studying for BEC and AUD felt like a breeze compared to studying for REG.

@Getting a CPA – REG seemed pretty simple and straightforward to me in the first two sections (individual taxation; I'm using Becker 2012). C corporations are what really killed me. The partnership and S corp stuff wasn't too bad. However, by the time you get through all eight chapters, between the different intricacies in tax and all the minor, but important details in bLaw, it just feels like an overload of information. Kind of feels like FAR to me.

    FAR - 81 (07/24/2012)
    BEC - 92 (10/06/2012)
    AUD - 92 (11/29/2012)
    REG - 88 (02/28/2013)

    Ethics - 90

Compare to FAR, I dont think FAR is hard at all. At least all FAR has is financial statements; NOT taxes, bankruptcy, secured transaction, surety, UCC, common law, all the exceptions, and etc.

I just found out i got a 70… using Becker. I've done enough Becker MCQs (Becker's MCQs are EASY and their SIMS are useless!) and now I'm using Wiley Review and the Wiley Test Bank. Wiley is too detial oriented, which is great to the certain extend (Good at explaining things which Becker is too lazy to do, BUT you really do not need all that information for the test). I feel like the only trouble I have is the SIMS part on the exam.

Do you guys have any suggestions on how to study for the SIMS? Is Wiley Test Bank good enough?

    @Getting a CPA

REG is not hard. It's the diversity and quantity of the material that causes so much pain, not the quality. I suggest going through all the BLaw material first then tackle the Tax part. Since Blaw is all about memorization and the diversity of material will cause some frustration at first.

    FAR 73, 75*, 79! n DONE!
    BEC 72, 75
    AUD 64, 75
    REG 43, 74, 72, 70, 88!
    *Expired...FML

I'm taking REG on Thursday and I also feel like each time I move onto a new topic, I forget whatever else I've studied. I have gone back through and redone the C-Corp MCQ's 4 times, as well as the partnership, property transactions and individual tax MCQ's at least twice but it just doesn't seem like it's sinking in. And then when I DO feel like I'm getting it, I take a pop quiz and I can't remember the agency/contract/business law stuff! It's just awful. I have two more sections to go (using Rogers so they're short) and then I'll be reviewing. Ugh, three days…

I take the test on Tuesday. There is so much material and so many small rules… I'm hoping luck is on my side on exam day. Just going to hope for the best, been studying like crazy so hopefully what I do remember combined with some luck will equal a passing score.

REG has been a beast to study for me.

    FAR - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER)
    AUD - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)
    BEC - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)
