My test is scheduled 5/14. Currently I have finished watching all DVD, review my notes and started the MCQ’s. For the MCQ’ s, I went through each section of business law and taxes. Then i did the test simulation with 72 questions, sims, and research.

The problem is that I am only scoring 33%. Obviously I am doing something wrong.

For those who passed Reg or in the process, please chime in. I am desperate!

    Thank you in advance.

I take it on 5/14, as well. My problem is I'm being told to only study my review course notes & MQ's—not any other. When I look at other questions (cpareviewforfree.com, Wiley, & Gleim) to feel confident I know the information….I'm missing LOTS of questions. How am I to feel confident for CPA questions if I can't answer “random” questions from other books or study material? This is getting VERY frustrating!!!

I took REG on Feb 7th and (fortunately) passed. My study plan was pretty much the same for all sections to date. I'm using CPAexcel: listen to lectures, do all practice and “exam” MCQ's until I score 100% on each section; review the text when I don't understand a topic thoroughly. Then, for four solid weeks, before the exam I do hundreds of MCQ's every day. I begin with the CPAexcel MCQ's, then I move on to Wiley online testbank and for Audit I got Gleim testprep.

I understand what you're saying about pulling random questions from other-than-your review. But, it will sink in if you review enough MCQ's. Hope this helped – it's worked for me. Best of luck.

@CPAcandidate please don't let cpareviewforfree.com lower your confidence! That site I swear is designed to make us feel bad. Just use your review material.

@PrincessSkimber–What study material are you using? I am using Becker. Before I do the simulated exams-which are “supposed” to be more difficult than the actual exam, I do big quizzes on each chapter. Each chapter I will take a 80 question MCQ quiz, once I'm scoring in the 80's for those, then I do progress quizzes, then the hard simulated exams. Hope that helps!

@Peanut, Study Chair and CPAcandidate. Thank you everyone.

I am using Yaeger and Gleim for additional MCQ's. I also have Jeff's Ninja Notes.

Is anyone rewriting their notes. When i read the notes, they easy to understand. There's so much material to absorb.

I am seriously thinking of moving my test dates. I want to score at 80% on the MCQ before taking it . That was my mistake in the last exam window with BEC.

Are the Gleim MCQs any different than Wiley test bank?

@annette1 – The questions in the Wiley testbank and Geim Test Prep are different for Audit.

So do you have a preference of test banks, and why?

Please help me Becker update says under Sec 179 The limit is 5,00,000 instead of 250,000 and for propperty placed in service year it is 2,000,000 instead of 800,000.

Secondly for start up cost it it 10k instead of 5k

Which amount to use in exam

@annette1 – I like to get really good at my review first (CPAexcel), then Wiley, then Gleim. Honestly, I passed BEC with just CPAexcel, FAR with just a little bit of Wiley & REG with lots more Wiley. I'm adding Gleim because i REALLY hope to pass Audit, my last section. Good luck!!

@CPAdream when I took the Becker classes for REG, the professors said to know both numbers for the exam, and that the answer to the MCQ will not include two right answers. Meaning you will get the right answer using one of the numbers either the 800,000 or the 2,000,000 but there will not be a solution answer for each number. Am I making any sense? Hope that helps

I used Becker and passed with a 85. This is what I did.

Watched Video and took notes in book.

Read book and outlined in a notebook

    Read over notes

    Did MC twice

    Moved to next section

My final review consisted of reading all my notes again, MC twice, and both the Becker final exams. I ended up with 160 hours and felt comfortable going into the exam.
