These words are becoming all too familiar… This morning I recieved yet another email from Prometric that my CPA exam appointment has been cancelled and must be rescheduled.

This is the second time this has happened to me during this testing window. And for the same exam! REG.

First, it happened for my Oct 1 appointment and now Prometric has cancelled all exams 11/26-11/29.

If this wasn’t the end of the testing window I wouldn’t be in such a panic. But what the heck are they going to do for us testers who don’t get to test before 11/30?

We will be exceptions that get to test in Dec? Or have to wait until January? Uggghhhhh……

Wow, thats a grind. Pretty ridiculous. If I were in your shoes, I would find another testing center. There are testing centers all over the place (even if you need to travel a few hours to get there). I wouldnt rely on the AICPA to extend the testing window (they rarely do so and it takes pretty much a natural disaster to do so). Hope you find a good place. Good luck!

Thanks Mini! And I'm seriously considering doing just that. Nearest center is in Tulsa. 2 hours away.. =/

Yeah, that will probably be your best bet. Maybe drive out the day before and get a good nights rest before your test day.

Quick update. January 2nd is the first open date for CPA testing. Tulsa test center is all booked up. Denton, TX is the next closest. I don't have the money, time or vacay hours to go to Denton, so I'm just gonna reschedule for January.

Oh yeah, and testing will absolutely not be opened up in December unless 200 or more people are affected. So the 50 or so of us will just have to deal…

At least you got a little warning. I showed up at the OKC testing center yesterday afternoon and found a sign on the door telling me they were closed.

It's crazy for you all, I have a testing site 2 miles away and five others within 25 miles. I do live in a metro area, but your situation is nuts.

I have been talking with my professor who has been in contact with the coordinator. They are working on getting the testing center back up soon and may extend testing in the Oklahoma City office for a few days in December to get in the reschedulers who cannot wait. Mine is tomorrow and I haven't gotten the cancellation notice yet. Hopefully it will be up tomorrow. I'll keep you posted with what I hear.
