Maybe I’m just a moron and am now realizing why I have received a 71, 70, and 74 on REG the last 3 times I have taken it. This freaking website is absurd! The questions are way more in-depth than Becker and seem to me to be very challenging; lots of minor details and exceptions to the rules, at least for tax.

Has anyone else used this and felt the same way? I am going through Becker again and supplementing it with CPA excel as well as this site. Hopefully I get it this time!!!!!

CPAREVIEWFORFREE.COM isnt absurd as you would make it seem. study harder and dont choose to give blame to a service that is free to the masses. it helped me alot with auditing and i am finding it a good supplement for BEC also. yes i have found small grammatical errors and had to email the administrators about it but you wont see me bashing them. they are only 3 years doing it and of course a few glitches or errors is to be expected.

in hindsight i think i might have miscontrued your comment…… i guess you choice of word “absurd” wasnt so good. it has a negative connotation… and yes to your origiinal post. cpareviewforfree rocks!!!!!!!! its a defiinate good supplement

I think the original poster actually meant “absurd” in a good way when referring to the site… :-/

    FAR 07/27/11 - 87
    AUD 10/01/11 - 85
    BEC 11/15/11 - 87
    REG 01/03/12 - 92

I dabbled in it for BEC, and barely touched it but still checked it out for REG. I remember feeling like I might be wasting my time since the questions are in fact quite detailed sometimes and probably cover more than we would need to know—however for my retake I plan to try and hit that website more, especially during office hours since I can't hit my becker or wiley questions. But shhhhh don't tell my boss.

    Wow! Surprised at the responses!

I definitely meant absurd in a GOOD way! For the record, that website is AWESOME, GREAT, WONDERFUL, GLORIOUS, FANTASTIC! I am going through the questions now and averaging a 72, which I'm actually not too bummed out about! Averaged a 90 on Becker last night and in the 80s on CPA excel.

BakedCPA, I am literally in the same position as you. I take mine August 24 and have all the others passed. THis site is great and definitely challenging! Highly recommended!!! Did I mention I like this site…

I'm using this site for AUD and find it helpful. What I like about it is that some of the questions can be more challenging and I feel that actually works to my benefit because I learn more. Additionally, I tend to get used to the way one test bank words their questions or the flow of their questions so I find mixing things up a bit with the cpareviewforfree test bank helps.

    AUD: 07/11/11 - Passed
    BEC: 08/27/11 - Passed
    FAR: 01/17/12 - Passed
    REG: 04/30/12; Re-take 7/16/12 - Passed

    FINISHED!!!!!!!!

cpareviewforfree.com is absurd. And I mean it in a bad way! Let me clarify. I thought cpareviewforfree.com was great for AUD, BEC and FAR. If you are using it for REG you are wasting your time. The questions are so difficult and much harder than what you would see on either the exam or the review book. Trust me, focus your time with your review material and don't bother using it for REG.

    BEC-84
    AUD-91
    REG-89

Yo Haze how'd you bump your 73 up to an 89? I think I recall you saying you accidentally skipped over a chunk of review questions—was that the difference? I'd love to replicate your exact turn around(though I'd settle for a 2 point turnaround!), going to just study really hard and hope that makes the difference but figured it wouldnt hurt to ask if you had any tips since you've now been there and done that.

BakedCPA, you are correct. Yaeger ususally goes through the majority of the review problems during the lecture. For indivudual he assigned a lot more problems than he went over. The way I study is I usually focus on the the topics he assigns as problems. I didnt review half of the individual tax questions he assigned (about a 100 questions) and those were the topics I struggled on the first time I took the test. I studied for 3 more weeks for REG after I took AUD and that was the difference between my 73 and 89.

    FAR-81
    BEC-84
    AUD-91
    REG-89

Good stuff Haze—hoping to do exactly what you did, go in and crush it in the rematch. August 26th, so im not sure if I should wait until I am closer to the exam and really hit my material then or go over it now as well. My fear is that I will be spending time on stuff now that won't even stick in a month anyway(its usually my last 3-4 weeks that really hammer the stuff home).

To Haze, that is quite an impressive turnaround! Do you have any tips on the simulations? There is really no way to really prepare for those I feel. I just practice as many as possible and try to get in the habit of knowing the concept so well I can fill in the answer without any options. Did you use the research tabs alot? I'm thinking I should use those this time around. How much time did you allow yourself for the sims? Sorry for all the questions; I have gotten 71, 70 (didn't know about the 2011 changes and flew through the sims), and 74 and just want to be done with the CPA exam FOREVER! Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
