Ok I was to register for the exam and I paid the fee because it asked for fee before scheduling for exam. I send my transcripts. However I do have 30 hr accounting credit however I didn’t realize it had to be above elementary level. So I am ineligible to take it however they took the exam fee. Is there a way to get refund for the fee since it says I am ineligible to take the exam? I am in Georgia and you don’t need 150 credits to sit for the exam.

Does anyone know if I can take CPA exam while I am taking high level accounting courses? I want to register for class for next year and take the exam while attending those courses. I am 5 credit short.

I wondered the same thing- in WA they would refund all but the application fee. I don't know if this varies by state. Originally I was found ineligible and emailed back and forth a bit regarding my requirements/classes/etc. Ultimately I met the requirements, but they did offer a refund of the test fee IF i wanted to cancel my application. I was told to leave the application open so I wouldn't have to pay for it again. They will leave it open for 6-9 months or longer if you let them know additional transcripts are coming.

I'm actually going through the same thing – I am in MI and I didn't know there was an 8 week window for applying before graduation. My file was scheduled to close the day of my last final after I graduate. I called and they offered to extend my deadline two weeks to allow me time to get my final transcripts there – they also offered a refund of the exam fee.

Hi you guys, they did refund my money. Well I haven't recieved it yet, but they said they will refund the money. so Yay! However I do need to complete my courses before I can sit for the exam. which sucks because I studied so hard for REG and that was all a waste and I also didn't know about the two week waiting period either so my plan did not work out. lol
