Having just taken the REG exam yesterday and, against all hope and serious prayer, fearing I will have to take it again. Here’s what I am looking for.
The most difficult topics for me to understand and memorize (because there are lots of lists associated) are:
Net Operating Loss
Alternative minimum tax (corporate and individual)
Sole proprietorship basis from creation to dissolving the company and converting assets to personal use/selling them.
Partnerships from creation and basis issues through operation for a year or two and ultimately through distributions and ultimately liquidation.
C and S corps from creation and basis issues through operation for a year or two and ultimately through distributions and ultimately liquidation.
All of the courses cover basis and distributions and liquidations in MCQ’s but none have a large comprehensive example like you might see on a SIM. So when you get to a SIM with tons of extraneous information and is much more comprehensive than a basis question…..it’s overwhelming.
Do any of the review courses have this?
