Below is what I wrote right after I took the test the first time, to how I felt today. Way back in November I posted this below and ended up with a 72, studied for 2 more months to take the test in February but had a family matter come up so I pushed the test back today, but only studied for about 2 weeks taking about 20 progress test/simulated exams (2000 questions) in Becker. …
2010: My first testlet was brutal. I only knew about 3 answers 100% sure. The rest were guesses (most educated, some actual no clue guesses). This was the first time out of five times I have taken an exam, that I didn’t feel that I dominated the first testlet.
2011: I breezed through the first testlet. I would be surprised if I did not get at least 20 of the 24 correct. Felt very confident. I felt like I knew the major concepts from Becker inside and out and there didn’t seem to be any trick questions. Would guess I got 20/24 (but I obviously have no clue).
2010: My second testlet was incredibly easy…like don’t even have to study easy.
2011: Second testlet was very difficult. I took a lot of educated guesses through the first 15 questions and then it eased up a little bit in the last 10 or so. I knew a lot of the concepts but also ran into “trick” questions and random fact questions. I’ll guess 17/24 on this one.
2010: Third testlet was much more difficult than the second but not nearly as bad as the first.
2011: I think it took me about 10-15 minutes. Seemed like it was straight from Becker. No questons seemed to be tricky. I would guess I got 21/24.
2010: I am guessing I got Standard-Standard-Hard. Just must have had tough luck with the first testlet. This is the first time I didn’t feel that my second and third testlets were harder than the first.
2011: Based on how I felt I would say Standard-Hard-Standard. Definetly felt more prepared this time overall. Still had nearly 2 hours left for the sims.
2010: I had the same type of sims that flowed from tab to tab. I didn’t know what I was doing for either one. A lot of the fill in the blanks werent just writing in $100…it was more equation based. I found this nearly impossible. Written communications should be fine and I got both researches wrong. First one couldn’t find, second I ran out of time.
2011: I actually think my sims were harder this time around.
1 – It was ok. The concept was in Becker but what it was asking wasn’t really the same as what Becker teaches. It made it very confusing. Also, instead of having just one answer for each row, it was a seried of numbers to add together to get the answer.
2 – Bombed. Becker talked about the terms a lot, but on the test it was a completly different concept that shared the same terminology.
3 – Don’t even know what it was asking for. Same as “1”, where a series of numbers needed to be analyzed to determine if they would be added into the answer box. Don’t remember learing anything remotely close to it in Becker. Used a different concept and applied that hoping there was some carry over.
4 – I have been searching this one to see if I was along the right lines but I can’t find anything on the internet about it. The saving grace on this one is I bet a lot of people who were taking a guess would have done the exact same thing I did. This was another one with multiple numbers needing to be analyzed and combined if applicable, to come to a final answer.
5 – The one I thought I got completely right, I used the wrong percentage to calculate each row! Ugh, hopefully they give partial credit on that one.
6 – I know 100% sure I got the research right, took about 10 minutes to figure it out though. When I searched the terms I was looking for I ended up clicking on the 40th+ link to get started. From there I followed a few links in the original linked I clicked and finally found the right section.
Absolutely no way I passed this exam.
Felt good after FAR, 81
Felt bad after AUD, 74
Felt great after BEC, 80
Felt good after AUD, 8x
Felt AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL after…and during REG, 72
Felt bad afer REG…and I am probably on the borderline.
Before going back and finding what I wrote in 2010, I thought I completely bombed today, but now I have some sort of confidence/hope of passing. I feel like I was more prepared this time around, and the M/C seemed much easier so I am confident that was because I knew the material. The sims are what is the tough part. They are worth more and there is no written communication now. Basically free points out the window and the difficult part is worth more! I just hope I pass because I don’t feel like I can be any more prepared…well I guess I could study the sims from this test, but I have been looking them up since I got home and still don’t think I could answer the ones I was lost on.
