I can’t get a handle on it. They use 6 sentences of events, transfers and crap to confuse me and it works. I’m usually lost after the first sentence. Can this be a topic that I can just “be familiar” with? Or am I screwed?

JJM – In my opinion, if you can pass BEC, you certainly can do almost anything short of actual human flight. Just know the basics.

Are you using Becker? I thought Peter did a pretty good job of explaining commercial paper. Maybe if you watch the portion of the video again that talks about whether an instrument is negotiable, that would help? The practice questions are tricky, I'll give you that.

If you're familiar with how checks work, you'll have a good foundation. I worked at a bank and still remember a lot about checks and the rules about them. Once you start with checks, build on that foundation and then add drafts. Then go to negotiable notes. Then go for the rest. Step by step.

Dude are you kidding? Commercial paper was a joke. Bankruptcy is the awful topic in REG. I just cannot grasp the concepts!

For me Bankruptcy has been easy. In a transaction involving 15 different people who handled one document and you have to determine who had secondary liability, that's a joke.
