I just read that the threshold for medical deduction changed from 7.5% to 10% in 2013; will my exam in two weeks have the 10% calc as opposed to the 7.5%?

When I took REG at the beginning of July, I was worried about all the little threshold/percent changes and which numbers I needed to know, but it ended up not really coming into play. In any question where you had to apply a threshold, the question would state the threshold to use, so I didn't actually have to worry about it. I can't say your exam questions will all be like that for sure, but I wouldn't spend much time trying to remember changes like that. If it didn't give you the number to use for some reason though, I'd probably use 10% since 2013 tax laws are supposed to be tested beginning in this testing window.

(and the 10% change is only for people under 65 years old, those 65 and over still use 7.5%)

    Good luck!

Although what tphil said is true for the most part, I would still take a look at this: If you're going to memorize any numbers, memorize the 2013 numbers.
