    How much time do you have to study each week?

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

    I'm not working now so I have the whole week to study

    REG is the most difficult section in my opinion. The sheer amount of material and the difficulty of tax makes it the toughest (some might disagree – especially those who have a tax background or work in tax). Some might disagree and say FAR is tougher.

    8 weeks is enough if you really study consistently. Jeff recommends 5-6 weeks I believe (but 20+ hrs/week)

    It all depends on how much Tax knowledge you have to begin with. I'm giving myself a total of 3 months to study for REG and to be honest, I'm so glad I did because I'll need that amount of time to study.

    I certainly hope so! Seeing as I am only taking 6 weeks to study. I firmly believe that a person can study too much

    Aud 4/2/11 - 86
    Far 5/27/11 - 83
    Bec 7/1/11 - 82
    Reg 8/13/11 - 86! It's over!!!!

    I studied for 75-80 hours/week for 2 weeks. Going into the exam I felt like I'd be much better prepared if I had 2-3 more days. I probably would have gotten a higher score if I had studied more, but I did pass with what I'd done. I have some tax experience but not a lot so my background wasn't that big a help. If you're not working, 8 weeks should be more than enough time.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

    lol i dont think anything kb24 says should count… he/she is just a genius for passing all four parts within a month a half

    I took 8 weeks for REG while working full time, so I think you should be fine. But for me REG was my second easiest to study for so I guess it depends on how comfortable you with tax/law.

    FAR 10/1/2010 =====> 90
    BEC 10/28/2010 ====> 81
    REG 2/2/2011 ======> 82
    AUD 5/28/2011 =====> 92 ===========>DONE!!!!

    Be careful with 8 weeks. Odds are anything studied in the first month is going to need to be studied again in the 2nd one quite heavily to make sure you are retaining the minutia. I studied for REG for a month on this timeline and it worked out:

    Week 1: 20

    Week 2: 20

    Week 3: 40

    Week 4: 60

    Obviously I could have used a little more time, but hey passing is passing.

    FAR: 84
    AUD: 95
    REG: 78
    BEC: 88
    ETHICS: 100

    I began studying for reg 3/1 took the exam 4/17, this was last year, and it was my first pass. Yes I know it can be done. I was working full time and i studied about 35 hours per week and during which my grandpa died, his funeral was 4/19. You have to focus and plan and stick to the plan that you have worked out so that you can get thru the review.

    IL - BECKER=============> DONE
    REG - 80; FAR - 65,79; AUD - 53,78; BEC - 71,68, 75 (used becker and yaeger for 3rd BEC)Ethics 95

    @syyuchen – I did the SIMS in the Wiley test bank and all the MCQ from the Wiley text, the Wiley test bank, and the Becker Passmaster questions. Having said that, though, there is no way to prepare for the REG SIMS except having a thorough knowledge of the material and allowing enough time in case you have to do research. I allowed 1 1/2 hours and used almost all that with half spent on one question. I had two problems with the SIMS – obscure topics and poorly worded questions. For the first you can use the research tab to help, and for the second you have to make your best guess as to what's intended. Also, make sure you're as strong as possible on the MCQ to help offset any problems you have with the SIMS. It can't completely compensate if you totally blow the SIMS, but it can help if you do a mediocre job on them.

    @rknight – I'm not a genius. I was just highly motivated not to take the exams again so I did nothing but study for several weeks. Even when I had to go somewhere, my book came with me so I could use any spare few minutes I had studying.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

    Actually, you are a genius. You passed all 4 parts in one window. Not everybody can do that! Even I couldn’t do that no matter how hard I try. My brain needs time to absorb all that material. Heck, I gave myself 3 months to study for REG and I still think it’s not enough time.

    I think it can be done in 8 weeks with the right amount of hours put in. I can only speak for myself, I took about 7-8 weeks and it wasnt enough, but I also probably wasn't studying enough. I typically spend the first 3-4 weeks getting a broad overview of the material, doing questions, reading notes, etc. I also give myself about 2(sometimes 3) days off per week during this time and this is all based on 3 hours per day. Then the final 3-4 weeks I turn it up a notch and put in about 4 hours per session and about 6 days per week. And of course my last week I hit the material hard as heck(few 5-8 hour days my final days before the exam). For AUD and BEC this method worked, for REG it probably wasnt enough due to more material and the difficulty of that material, I might've been better off doing what I did with FAR and spending the extra weeks getting the material down.

    Long story short, I feel like its not so much the amount of weeks but moreso the time you put in–look at KB24 who knocked em all out in 2 months but was putting in long hours everyday with no days off.
