I keep hearing flip flopping views on how much time to dedicate on studying business law for REG. I have a little over two weeks before my exam and want to know from people who have taken REG recently how much time to devote to this area? I am using Becker and supplementing with Ninja MCQ. Please give me some advice!!!! Really appreciate it.

0 time. Per their guidelines, it's less than 10% of the mcq and no sims. Don't waste your time. I failed my first time wasting 2 weeks on law. Completely ignored it the 2nd time.

Oh wow really? I’ve read people that have taken it since the exam changes have had a BL SIM and to not fully ignore it – when did you take the reg exam?

pre sim changes, q1 2017. I don't think it's possible to have a sim on law since it's not on the blueprint.

I spent a decent amount of time on Business Law. Don't skip it!

The test isn't scored as a %, but if you shoot for 75% of correct answers (which is still roughly what you will need), you can't afford to punt on 10% of the exam. Spend 10% of your time. Understand some of the basics and don't kill yourself memorizing everything. Read through the notes/pass keys the night before and you will be fine. You need to get a couple law questions correct to pass the exam…

I tried reasoning out the main ideas for each area:
Who is the CPA liable to for what & when, defenses, penalties. Draw your pge in 1/2 10b5 and 11 33 and 34 act.

When do you have a contract or not, defenses

Understand authority when it comes to agency

Be able to understand court process and jurisdiction

Draw your page in 1/2 common law/ ucc know when you to use

I didn't score great on my practice tests bc of the finer points of those areas but knowing the main ideas and how to work through the most common transactions.

I think this is in there for one more thing just to mess with you. 9/10 you'd consult a lawyer not an accountant for what they ask
