Bringing REG home on 8/30

I began my final review after rewriting all of my REG notes on Friday.

I think that between now and 8/30 I should be able to get through CPAExcel’s MCQ’s and SIMS and Wiley’s questions at least two times each, making notes as I go on questions I miss. Right now the first time through CPAExcel I am running about 75-80% on business law and ethics.

Anyone else have any tips to squeeze out a few more points? At this point, I am running low on excess time.

I will create a couple pages worth of cheat sheet items (basis, like kind exchanges, partnership/c corp/s corp taxation rules, AMT calculations, estate and fiduciary tax format, and some other items. I’ll reproduce that each study day until it is committed to memory. I also have Ninja notes I am consulting as I go through.

I MUST MUST MUST get this exam this time or else I run a real risk of a) losing my mind and b) hitting the 18 month window in July of next year (I still have FART to go). The real problem is that I can’t seem to hold all the information in for both Law and Tax, it seems my brain is built like a septic tank (hey, that’s a pretty good analogy…when filled with too much crap, it leaks out! :D).

Good luck! I'm taking it the same day as well.

I'm scared. For the next two weeks it's just re-reading my WRITTEN Ninja Notes every couple days with TBS's.

    MCQ's everyday.

Yep SIMS suck….I wasn't ready for them the first time. Of course, nothing I could have done would have prepared me for them either.

IMHO it is critically important to nail the first set of mcq's so that you can maximize your points before any difficulty increase and to nail the sims.

I must admit to being quite excited about the prospect of a possible pending pass. I'm already jazzed about 9/10 or 9/11's grade release.

I'm not one for fortunes but when I took my daughter to the father/daughter dance we ate chinese and I saved the fortunes in my wallet. Today I ran across them and they both read: 1) Remember three months from this date good things are in store for you and 2) You will be showered with good luck before your next birthday. Well, three months from today is when I planned to take FART (assuming I pass REG on 8/30) and my birthday is at the end of the year. May both come true! 😀
