The other sections are adequate – I’d recommend those to anyone. REG, on the other hand, terribly prepares you for the exam in my opinion.

Does anyone else share my frustration with Bisk for REG and if so, can you offer suggestions on alternate study materials? I prefer learning by reading and then going through questions. Videos/live courses aren’t worth the additional money to me.

I don't know about REG yet, but I had no problems with FAR and AUD. I prefer to read instead of videos too. And I like that Bisk is budget friendly. So I'm interested to read what others have to say, since I haven't begun REG yet.

I used Bisk and the Gleim Test Prep MCQ's for all four sections. I highly recommend supplementing with the Gleim questions.

I wasn't dissatisfied with the questions piece. I just hated the text. Once you miss a question, the explanations actually give info that wasn't previously discussed in the text at all. I hate beating around the bush – I just want the content out there in the open for me to read, then I'll get on with the questions. That was a huge negative for me on the REG materials.

I know the software is a bit sketchy – but it worked for me.

Though it costs more – the live (or online) Phila CPA Review courses really help prepare you for each section.

Granted, tax is my strength – but the MCQ got me where I needed to be.

I never read the text much except to learn more – my class notes carried me through.
