Hi guys! Its been a while. I passed FAR in December and had to take a hiatus because of tax season. Now that tax season is over I’m ready to dive back into the CPA exam. Do you guys have any advice on the best way to tackle REG? I’m not really sure how to begin studying for REG or how long I should study for. With the new exam score release dates I’m a little scared that I may miss a window.

Undoubtedly, with a helmet! REG is a bit of a beast and there is a lot of information to cover. It seems as though you may be a full time employee as well like myself. If this happens to be the case, I would recommend about 20-25 hours of studying per week in the 6-8 week range. You will need to have an extremely solid understanding of corporate/individual tax and I would not recommend moving on to the rest of the material until you have mastered a majority of the concepts. After this do MCQ after MCQ after MCQ!

    Hope this helps.

Thank you for responding! I am a full time employee but luckily my job is pretty flexible. They only require about 30 of charge time a week during non busy times which leaves me with about 10 hours a week to study at work. I just started studying REG this morning with Becker and while it is pretty dreadful, nothing is completely new to me yet so I'm hoping for the best!
