Hi ALL:

I was just wondering if Reg simulations are as difficult and time consuming as FAR on the exam.

What topics are tested mostly in the SIMs/ written communications.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes! The AICPA is infamous for sick questions. Expect the unexpected. Only about 45% of CPA candidates pass each exam. The pass rate for the BAR exam is twice that of the CPA exams. There is a shortage of CPAs for a reason.

I personally thought the REG sims were way easier than the FAR sims. I have taken every test now, and the FAR sims were without a doubt the hardest part of any exam imo.

FAR had 8-9 tabs on one SIM and each tab was a SIM on its own I was wondering if its the same for REG?

well there is a bunch of different sims, so what I got could be totally different than what others got. You seriously had 8 or 9 sim tabs for 1 sim in FAR? Not counting the research and WC tabs? That seems weird…

On all of my sims for every exam I basically had 1 tab of instruction, 3-4 sims tabs, all unrelated, 1 research tab, and 1 WC tab.

Also, as far as time consuming goes:

It doesn't matter how time consuming something is, whether MC or sims, you have to allot a certain amount of time, and move on. Say you plan on spending 45 min on each sim for reg, then if you are at the 40 min mark on your first sim, you have got to make your best effort to complete as much as you can in the remaining 5 minutes and move on.

Time management is a big part of these exams.
