Just curious what everyone thought of the exam right after taking it?

After failing my audit exam, my confidence is extremely. (Always been low, but passed my first exam made me feel better)

Now I don’t know if I can pass REG. During study I can average 80+ in becker and trending 80 in Ninja, but never felt comfortable with the simulation or really the business law.

During exam, I did well in the first testlet, but second one was extremely hard. Nearly half of my answers were guesses…..

Third testlet wasn’t too hard, probably because I sucked in the 2nd one….

now I really don’t think I will pass…..

anyone felt the same but still passed?

I was so upset and convinced I failed my third AUD exam that I forgot my license at Prometric, cried all the way home, started studying again about an hour after my exam (was my last one) and studied 25 hours a week while I waited for my score.

Got an 84.

I thought I passed REG last time I took it. Got a 66.

Then I was convinced 99.9% sure I failed BEC. Got an 86.

I was also sure I passed (but not with a strong pass) FAR and nailed AUD, I was right about both. The takeaway? I have no clue what to think, and how I think I did basically doesn't matter at all.

I walked out of all 4 tests feeling like I failed. It's a hard test and its graded strangely. You never know until score release day. Chin up.

The first time I took Far and Reg, I was sure that I failed (I didn't study much). After I took Far on 1/4, I think I passed. After I read your message, I am thinking, omg, maybe I should feel like I failed.

Failing a section is the worst. You can not predict if you will pass or fail while you wait for the scores. However you can use the Ninja Trending and Average scores as a very very very good indication of how well prepared you are / were.

At my office , the ongoing joke / wisdom is that if you feel terrible about the exam, then you probably passed.

I have felt terrible every time I have walked out of the exam. I have failed 3/5 times. The worst fail was when I thought I did ok on AUD and failed. I try not to get my hopes up. The two times I passed I remembered feeling that I couldn't have been anymore prepared for the test and then stressed because if I didn't pass I didn't know what more I could do!

Bottom line, there is no way to know. As long as you sat for it you have a chance to pass!

This happened to me many times in college, but I'm surprised it hasn't happened to me on the CPA exams yet. I've taken and passed both REG and BEC. On both exams, my ‘guess' score after completing each exam came within 5 points of my actual score. I just took AUD on Friday and feel far less confident, but I'm hoping that means I passed. 🙂 The MCQ were doable, but the SIMs – 2 of them were worded very strangely and I felt like my answers would be completely different depending on the interpretation. I'm already planning on retaking it, so I hope I passed based on that.

After taking audit, I immediately went for a 2 hour motorcycle ride swearing at myself the whole time, because I was convinced I failed. Honestly wasn't sure if I was even taking the right exam and the testing center was screwing with me. Ending up getting an 81 somehow.. Seems to be a reverse relationship sometimes between how you think you've done and how well you scored.

I think it's also important to remember that your score is not a percentage of correct answers, but actually a raw score. I have taken two parts thus far and after each of them I immediately got my phone out and tried to calculate how many MCQs I could miss and what portion of the SIMS I would need to get to pass. Contrary to my actions, I believe this is a meaningless exercise because 1) your score is not a percentage 2) they are going to throw out several of the questions and 3) (perhaps the most important) what's done is done and you can't change it.

As @MaLoTo said, if you sat for the part you have a chance to pass. If you feel like you studied the best/most you could have, you were probably more prepared the half of the test-takers. It's a tough exam and I think we should give ourselves more credit for how hard we have worked (pass or fail).

Only my last exam, BEC. After taking all four use your NINJA stats or practice exam scores to lean on when you're waiting for your actual score.

I was always +/- 5 points of any practice exam I took.

When I was in my first testlet, I was already resigned into re-taking it…. That's how crazy it was. But yeah, you never know.. just wait it out.
