Anyone else struggling thru REG?

In my opinion the amount of pure memorization that is required in REG is very daunting. The Yaeger video lectures and handouts make it somewhat easier to digest but If I dont re write the handout into a second layer of even more condensed notes it doesnt stick. Plus, its not the kind of material you can sit and look at for 6 hours straight. I have to treat it like its fine wine, I can only take so much at a time. My routine is 2 Hours then a break, absorb, then re write the hand out, then MCQ’s & SIM’s. Only the questions Yaeger recommends. I started as soon as I got the materials in the mail, mid December. I thought I could have it wrapped up by Feb. But I feel at this rate I will have to wait until April to take it. I am just about to wrap up the Business Law section and ready to move on to the Tax sections. I doubt I can do tax in 3 weeks and take the exam in late Feb. Is anyone else experiencing a similar problem with REG? I feel like it is deceptively hard. I passed BEC last window and didnt have to put in nearly half the effort.

Thanks and Good Luck to all.

Reg is hard and requires a lot of studying. But I.think you may have over emphasized business law topics. Look at the cso for the weights…

Yea I may need to re adjust my focus a bit and move on to the Tax area. Trying to take each section in between Law School semester breaks. I really need to wrap up REG by Feb 28. Good Luck to you with FAR. I will be rooting for u to wrap it up.

Ahmad, REG is definitely tough to get through. I started studying Nov 23 and I am going to take the test tomorrow. Yes the amount of information that you have to straight up memorize is a lot. I did the same thing. I would do it in sections or read over things while I am laying on my couch or in front of a tv so it didn't feel so much like studying. I will give you a status report tomorrow after the test to let you know how it went

Studying for Reg. Will be sitting the exam Feb 26. I find it difficult to do it on my own. Is there anyone in the California Northern bay area who needs a study partner?

Do a couple hundred – two thousand multiple choice. That's how I crammed in two weeks (law was tough, IRC was easy since I'm tax)

The way I see it, is you need at least 3 weeks of hardcore in the opposite focus and at least 3 days on BEC and 10 days on FAR. Generally people probably need more on the opposite-track sections (i.e. tax needs more time on audit/FAR and auditors need more time on REG.)

It's tough but passable. I've found that Becker questions are primarily tougher than actual AICPA questions. Take it with a grain of salt, but best of luck regardless.
