Just curious!! That’s what I’m up against right now, I need a pass on 12/6 to be done with this exam forever, or else I lose AUD credit and have to take that along with REG over next year. I don’t want that!! Looking for some “encouragement” and a sign I’m not fooling myself that its possible. So has anyone prepare for REG in 5 weeks or less while working full time? I’m planning to take the week of the exam off from work to study full time.

    AUD - 90 Pass
REG - 70,61,81 Pass DONE DONE DOOOOONNEEE!!!!!!!!
    BEC - 79 - Pass
    FAR - 70,82 - Pass

I did, but I had the luxury of studying while at work. It helped! Look at the score change.

    F - 79 5/31/13
    R - 68 07/12/13 Retake 88! 10/18/13
    B - 78 08/31/13
    A - 64 01/03/14 Retake 75! 5/23/14 I would rather have a 75 than a 99 any day!

so1913- You can do it! Just think how great it would be to be done in 2013.

I studied for six weeks before taking REG (including a few days off for Christmas). What study materials are you using? Flashcards helped me to remember all the random tax details.

@auslaf I have Becker 2012 textbook that is marked up from when I 1st reviewed for REG a little over a year ago. My plan is to read through the entire book and write out notes over the next 3 weeks and use the last two weeks for tons of MCQ's and overall notes/flashcard review. I have Becker flashcards, NINJA notes, audio, access to Ninja Blitz, and Wiley Test Bank. My Becker licensed expired in in August so I no longer have access to videos or the practice questions, but WTB makes up for that and the lectures I think can live without (especially since I have the notes from the 1st round).

Any tips on study approach would be great!

Your plan sounds good. REG shouldn't change for 2013, but I found a link to the Becker updates and released questions: https://beckerkb.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1065

Just remember that you don't have to memorize the specific annual amounts. Lots of people get hung up on amounts when they don't have to. The information will be provided in the question.

I am actually in the same boat as you. I am waiting for AUD scores to release and preparing to take what will hopefully be my last test. I started studying for REG about two weeks ago and my test is on the 25th so I allowed myself about 5 weeks to study. I work full time at a small CPA firm. I find that allowing myself a smaller time frame lets me retain more information. My first try at FAR I allotted way to much time and by the time I went to take it I forgot a lot. On the retake I spent four weeks. Good luck to you!

5 weeks, work full time, 2 kids, and a 2 hour commute each day. I got through all the material in 3 weeks, and then did 100 MCQ's a day for 2 weeks straight. Weekends I did my 100 questions and reviewed the simulations. I read my notes every single day at the last 2 weeks.

Area's to pay special attention to: Blaw, Responsibilies, Fed Sec Act, and Business structure will be all MCQ's on the exam, never seen a simulation in past exams or in my review. For taxation, focus on your simulations. You will get a couple of MCQ's on taxation topics, but not many.

Nail down: Prof & Legal resp's, Fed Sec Act, business structures, individual taxation, and property taxation until you are getting 70% and above. Those sections make up the highest percentage of the exam. (60-80%)

    Good luck!

    AUD - Jan 9,13 Pass
    REG - Aug 30,13 Pass
    BEC - Oct 26,13 Pass
    FAR - Dec 4,13 Pass
