I just took the Reg exam yesterday and totally dropped the ball on the sims. I honestly didn’t put a lot of time focusing on studying for the sims because most people I talked to, including seeing various post on this site, made it sound like if you focus on MCQs and get the concepts down that you’d fine and that should not spend too much on practice sim. While I obviously didn’t have a deep understanding of ALL concepts, I felt like I was a prepped as I could be.
However, the sims I got yesterday were not at all what I expected, with the exception of a couple. They very difference from the sim on the AICPA example test and the handful of the NINJA sims that I did do. There were two in particular that I really wasn’t even sure how I was suppose to answer the question as I didn’t think they were clear enough in their instructions. Unfortunately I felt like I ended up just plugging in numbers from the question, which I really had no basis in.
With how awful I felt those sims went, I cannot even see it being feasible that I stand any chance of passing. With that, I am gearing up for a re-take and looking for any guidance on prepping better for the sims.
Should I use NINJA’s? Again, I did do a small handful of these and did fine but most of the questions I got on the exam were not all like the type of sims I got on the exam.
