Hey guys. I’ve recently just started coming to this site and you have a lot of good discussion/input.

Anyways, I just took Reg (7/22) and am having very mixed feelings about it. I came out of the exam feeling okay (didn’t feel like it dominated me), but in the last couple of days I have been thinking of 7-9 M/C questions that I was iffy on and realized that I probably didn’t get them correct. For the most part, I feel as if I did really well on the Tax M/C questions. The Biz Law stuff though was difficult.

I was able to finish every part of both Sims, although I know I botched one tab in one of the Sims. I feel as if my written communication was concise and right on point. And I know I got the research problems correct.

Am I having false anxiety here? Does that description sound like something that would result in a passing score? I really don’t understand how the exams are graded, so that doesn’t help either. And since I’ve only taken Audit (7/14), I don’t have anything to compare Reg to.

    AUD: 95 (7/14/10)
    REG: 94 (7/22/10)
    BEC: 87 (7/29/10)
    FAR: 95 (8/12/10)

i am in the same shoes as you (took REG 7/16). you are feeling the same way as many of us feel after the exams, the waiting part of this cpa experience is pure torture.

nothing we can do about it now so i would forget about it and move on to the next section…BEC here i come!!!

My opinion, although I recognize it's easier saying it than doing it, is that once we click the “Done” button on the last sim of the test we should completely stop thinking about it, not even going back to the textbook/notes/cpa review software.

You either start studying for the next section, if you have one coming up soon, or you go back to work, if you work, or you go back to your family at home, if you have one. Or, best case scenario, you don't have an exam coming up, no wife/kids at home, no work to worry about it….then you go to Vegas for a wild weekend…. πŸ™‚

Seriously, it's done now. There's nothing you could do about it until the score is released. You have another section coming up soon, so every minute you worry/stress/feel anxious about REG is a minute taken away (and possibly points taken away) from your BEC exam.

We did our job. We went into the exam prepared to answer questions. Now it is up to the AICPA to do their job. There is nothing that we can do except to start studying for the next exam.

italianCPA – couldn't have said it better. I always say put your energy into things that you can control and not worry about things you cannot. When you it the “Done” button your done. Forget about it and move on.

By the way italianCPA, are you from Italy originally. Just asking lived 3 years in Vicenza and loved it.

    Lee_IN:

Yes, I am from Milan. Came to the US when I was 26, almost 8 years ago. Now a US citizen as well (I will bring both my passports to the exam on Monday).

Were you in the US military? They have a huge base in Vicenza…

italianCPA – Yes I was in the military but I lived half way between Padua and Vicenza. I loved living in Italy, traveled everywhere, If I ever get back to Europe, I am go to visit some of the old places again. There is nothing like the European history. Good Luck on FAR on Monday.

I'm not very stressed because the extremely long wait to be approved to sit by the California Board of Accountancy used all the stress that I budgeted for this year, seriously!

italianCPA I know what your talking about, I just got my NTS and scheduled to sit FAR on 8/31. Could not find a prometric center that could give me a date of 8/31 here in Los Angeles now I have to drive all the way to Lake Forest (about a 2 hour drive) to sit this crazy exam. Am just finishing chapter 3 becker review with all the MCQ's. Am so worried I may not cover all topics before 8/31.

    Lake Forest? Wow!

On 8/31 the prometric center in Culver City (which is very close to where I live) had a 7:30am appointment for REG, but I picked a 6pm appointment in Anaheim. I'd rather drive 30 miles south on the I-5 than waking up at 5am to take a test.

Check Anaheim, sounds definitely closer than Lake Forest.

Did you check Gardena also? I'm taking my FAR test there on Monday. They had the best availability in terms of time. Glendale must be the smallest center since it is pretty much booked for the whole month of August.
