I just took the first REG Becker practice exam and it killed my confidence. Anyone else have a similar situation? My scores are below, any recommendations or words would be really appreciated.

    Testlet 1: 12/24

    Testlet 2: 14/24

    Testlet 3: 17/24

    Sims:

    Medical: 3/4

    Casualty: 0/5

    Tax Treatment 1: 7/10

    Tax Treatment 2: 3/5

    Tax issues: 5/9

    Research: 0/1

Overall the weighted average was a 53%

I’ve completed audit (85) and BEC (90), so this I’m questioning what to change or how to most effectively prepare. I’m taking the exam in 5 days.

    Thanks!

    Ben

I'm having the same problem. Any advice at all on these research questions they are really difficult to find the answer.

Furthermore Gleim keeps sending me curve balls like asking what is reported on schedule F and stuff. Is there a good chance this type of stuff will really be on the exam?

Whats on each schedule is not something i remember seeing on my exam – but take that for what it is.

For the research questions – i found them hard as well, but what helped me was to try and figure out the keyword in the question and using the search function thereafter to search for that keyword. Also, try to be as exact as possible on which paragraph you pick rather than always picking xxx(1) (i.e. the 1st paragraph that might provide a general overview but not the details). Again, try doing as many qs as possible beforehand!

    good luck!

No one ever feels “ready” for these exams, well at least I never have. We are at the end of a window anyway so you might as well sit and see what happens. Whether you fail or postpone, you will be rescheduling for July.

And in July, apparently there will be “significant” changes in the curriculum (Becker's words, not mine)..

Someone already said this, but attack your weak spots – make flash cards, pin notes on a wall, re-write notes, whatever it takes. 4 more days is plenty of study time to shore up those weak areas, if you've been putting in the time.

And walk into that exam with confidence – you've gotta go in there feeling like you're gonna kill it. Good luck!

    AUD: 84 - Oct. 2013
    BEC: 83 - Feb. 2014
    REG: 91 - May, 2014
    FAR: 68, 96 - Oct. 2014...DONE
