Am I ready for REG?

Taking REG in 2 days and am terrified that I’m not nearly ready. Consistently hitting about 75-80% on Wiley practice (82% overall score), but Wiley’s so heavy on non-tax questions I don’t know if I can trust that. On practice tests that I’ve made with only tax questions I’m hitting in 70s range fairly consistently. Anyone who’s used Wiley, am I ok with these scores?

I’m familiar with AMT, but would be screwed if I caught it on a sim. Could maybe get 1/2 credit on AMT sim at best. Have trouble keeping sections 1231, 1245, 1250, etc straight in my head, too.

On the bright side, my confidence between this time and my first train wreck with REG is like night and day! Just not sure that’s enough, cause I bombed it pretty bad the first time.

Any thoughts, hints to remember things, anything is appreciated!

    FAR - 75
    AUD - 72; 87
    REG - 64; 74; 84
    BEC - 88

didnt even read your story to say this, take the exam and see what happens, you fail you fail. think of it as a practice exam if you do fail. if you pass then youll be happy you didnt prolong the torture. just be comfortable with the 200 dollar exam fee or whatever it is.

    FAR: PASSED
    REG: PASSED
    AUD: PASSED
    BEC: PASSED

    DONE

I literally just walked out of REG so I feel your pain! I'm still not sure that I was ready :-/ This is my first time taking REG, but I had a similar experience with FAR- took it the first time and bombed. I think someone off the street could have walked in and taken the test and gotten a similar score. It was terrible. I took it again and the test was NOTHING like my first test. I still didn't pass, but without much more studying I scored 21 points higher. It just goes to show that all tests are different and just because you bomb one doesn't mean the next test will be as bad! Good luck! I'm sure you'll do great!

    BEC - 80
    FAR - 49, 70 (Not a fan of FAR!)
    AUD -
    REG -

Leading up to my REG exam, I was at about 80% on the Wiley questions, which is very similar to where you are. I ended up okay, but I was also doing better on the tax questions while struggling on some b-law topics. You should definitely look to strengthen your tax knowledge since that's like 60% of the exam according to the AICPA. If you can nail a large majority of the tax questions (including TBS), you should be fine. Good luck!

    BEC: 88 (8/27/13)
    FAR: 93 (12/3/13)
    REG: 92 (2/27/14)
    AUD: 95 (4/22/14)

I take Reg on the 29th, I failed it my first time, but i felt very very very uncomfortable with the material. I still feel pretty crappy with it, but I am definitely more prepared now than last time. I am really hoping for some grace from above on the simulations this time because they were out of left field from a ball park in a different city last time i took this test. Like what was said above, just take the test, at this point, the rescheduling fee makes it worth taking it just to see the test then retake it if necessary.

I know your pain, after my last abysmal attempt with Reg, it is 12:42 am and i am sitting in an IHOP drinking load and loads of coffee and pounding out as many multiple choice questions until 12 hours before the test. Then I will sleep for 7 hours and go take my test. I loose credit for FAR at the end of November, so I really really really need to pass this test so I can focus on BEC, but if I fail it, I think I am going to move on to BEC and try to really cram it and knock it out early next window and then come back to REG simply because I feel like I need to get my mind off Reg for a bit.

Sorry if I haven't answered your question, there is really no way to know if you are ready or not. Only taking the test will tell you that. And, that isn't even a reliable method. I took AUD and got a 71, next window took it again with what i feel was the same level of knowledge and got a 90…

So this past week I worked the entire NINJA test bank. All 1534 questions. I better blow that 66 from February out of the ballpark on Saturday. 🙂
