Am I ready for REG?

I just took the first REG Becker practice exam and it killed my confidence. Anyone else have a similar situation? My scores are below, any recommendations or words would be really appreciated.

    Testlet 1: 12/24

    Testlet 2: 14/24

    Testlet 3: 17/24

    Sims:

    Medical: 3/4

    Casualty: 0/5

    Tax Treatment 1: 7/10

    Tax Treatment 2: 3/5

    Tax issues: 5/9

    Research: 0/1

Overall the weighted average was a 53%

I’ve completed audit (85) and BEC (90), so this I’m questioning what to change or how to most effectively prepare. I’m taking the exam in 5 days.

    Thanks!

    Ben

I am worried about passing REG on the 28th. However there is a luck component to these exams. So it is possible that you will guess correctly on most topics and/or get a test that has questions that are on your strengths. So at this point both of us should not worry about failing and focus our energies on maximizing whatever chance we do have.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

I think the consensus around here is that practice tests are indeed a confidence killer and a waste of time.

If before the practice test you felt confident, then i'd stick with it. If you were already feeling like you weren't prepared and it made you feel worse, then maybe reschedule

    AUD - 65, 89!
    REG - 70, 89!
    FAR - 78!
    BEC - 77!

    Finally!

I haven't done the two practice exams. I think the score suggest nothing but your weak areas. Just spend the rest of your days focusing on your weak areas and learning from mistakes. Good luck!

    I Can Do This!!!!!

    BEC: 89
    AUD: 99
    REG: 93
    FAR: 8/2/2014

I gotta ask, zxiao…how did you prepare for the simulations?

What was your approach to studying for AUD?

    @CPAer

Simulations for AUD? I didn't prepare it specifically. I read Becker twice and memorized all reports.

I remember doing the first couple of practice tests and doing not so well – it takes a couple of practice tests to build the bridge between the type of questions they will ask on the material you have gone over (there is a bit of a disconnect as you can see).

The practice tests are important as they show the kind of questions that will come up (assuming Becker does the same thing as CPAExcel and uses past questions to build their practice tests). Just keep doing them and learn from the ones you get wrong – usually its the format of the question or certain rules that you may have glossed over or not given enough focus. Just keep doing more questions and build that confidence 🙂

Which state should I apply to? Need help: https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/passed-iqex-reg-which-state-may-2014-edition

You can practice the MCQs and gain that experience of what the questions are like without doing them in the formal practice test format, though– use your resources and keep learning the material.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

I'm having the same problem. Any advice at all on these research questions they are really difficult to find the answer.

Furthermore Gleim keeps sending me curve balls like asking what is reported on schedule F and stuff. Is there a good chance this type of stuff will really be on the exam?
