Almost cried as I walked out of the test center…

Just took REG 2 hours ago and I just can’t believe all those questions that I had…

I can remember 80% of them and I have to say, for MCQ, there are only fewer than 10 out of 72 questions are from topics Becker Review highlights for us….Honestly, I didn’t remember much of the ancillary materials from Becker, but I did Becker MCQ after those topics for two times and I have to say they are nothing like what I had in the real exam….

For simulation… that’s the part that almost made me cry… I left one hour sharp for simulation and ended up finishing them with 5 seconds left…. I had to search for terms for all these 5 simulations and then do the calculations..

I know there are people who felt the same way but passed in the end… I just really don’t know if I can be as lucky as those guys… Anyway, I have to take AUD in Aug and FAR at the beginning of Oct… Even if I didn’t pass, I am not going to think of it at least for 2 months….

REG simulations are totally awful. I had the same experience. But hopefully you passed! Good luck.

    FAR: 71, 77
    BEC: 70, 82
    AUD: 62, 78
    REG: 71, 68, 85

At least it is good that you had the time to look things up to help you finish the SIMs. That is better than just giving up because they didn't look familiar. Just try to block it out. There isn't anything you can do about it until you receive your score in Sept. and who knows, maybe many of the ones you considered the toughest were pre-test questions.

    AUD - 82 Becker
    BEC - 75 Becker
    REG - 71, 82 Becker
    FAR - 66,61,71,74,70 and #6 80!!!! FINALLY DONE!!! 9/20/12
Yaeger and Yaeger CRAM for the final battle!

    Hilaryh,

Are there pre-test questions?!? Like the ones in BEC?

Well a good chunk of Becker ancillary is ethical content so maybe that is why you did not recognize a lot of them.

Is it common to have to fill out tax forms on the SIMS? I am somewhat familiar with the forms but do not have a ton of experience actually filling them out. I would expect maybe a 1040 but besides that hopefully I don't have to know all the forms.

Hang in there. Brutal exam indeed, especially the sims. To this day I still do not know how to solve 4 out of my 6 sims that I had back in May. But ya never know. Seems like the key to success on this exam is 2 things—1) nailing the multiple choice and 2) being able to complete some of the sims via research function.

For my exam I was comparable on multiple choice, which to me tells me I couldve done better, and weaker on sims, which I knew I did bad on cause I couldn't even figure it out using the research function.

I just gotta wonder—why did they not only make the sims more difficult than 2010, but also have them weighted even heavier as well. Really wish they'd bring back the written communication and knock the sim weight back down to 15.

Hey don't worry. I took REG on July 12th and felt the same way. I think I did alright on the MCQ but the sims were from another planet. Of all 4 sections I feel as though REG is the one you need to be prepared to fail. Not just because it's hard, but it seems that everyone who passes thinks they failed too. Either way, I'm sure you did much better than you think and I hope the same is true for me haha.

Having taken the test how would you try to prepare for the spreadsheet calculations? I am hoping I will at least be familiar with the topics so I have a good shot but I am only studying with Becker and it seems they don't cover the in depth calculations needed…starting to freak out a little i have less than 2 weeks.

Hopefully you did better than you think, seems like everybody thinks they fail this whether they do or not.

    BakedCPA.

Thanks… Now, I am just very very upset with Becker Review and thinking if I should change to other materials… I review Becker for 2 times and read it through very quickly 4 days before exam for a 3rd time… I was very confident when I walked in the test center because I knew I remembered most of the highlighted topics and really understood them… But the questions are far off those topics…

Also, is there anyone who has taken FAR and AUD know if Becker is enough for these two exams?

Becker was very good for Audit, I felt prepared for everything I saw on there.

Miaomiao, As hard as this may seem, just forget about it for now. I did actually cry on my way home from taking REG and to my shock, I passed. I honestly thought there was no way that would happen, but it did! Also, I used Becker too, so there is hope for you!

I quit mentally during the AUD exam because i got frustrated that i didn't know the answers for about 4 questions for a particular testlet. In hindsight, expecting to know the answer for every question on the testlet is a ridiculous attitude to have.

I used Becker for REG and thought the MCQ were extremely similar to Becker. I got through all the MCQ in 45 mins. The SIMS were pretty straight forward except for one that was poorly worded and I had no idea what it even asking for.
