    Hi All,
Thanks for taking the time to read this post. Looking over the Agency module in Becker left me a bit confused and am looking for some clarification as I’m sure I’m just reading it wrong.
Basically, to create an agency relationship, it does not need to be in writing unless its for the sell or purchase of interest in land or an agreement that cannot be completed within a year. However, the next page mentions a power of attorney, and that its a written authorization of agency.
I’m a little confused on what that last part regarding a power of attorney means considering it mentions the only two situations where an agency agreement must be in writing is when its related to land or cannot be completed within a year. Shouldn’t power of attorney be added to this list?
Again, I know I have to be reading this wrong, but clarification would be appreciated.

Power of attorney is a different thing.
It is a document that gives one person power to act in behalf of another person regarding certain things.
It applies to stuff Like a father can give his son power of attorney to manage his finances. Same can be for a broker/customer and can also be applied to agent/principal.
Contracts that require wrriten evidence are MY LEGS (in Becker)
Look up power of attorney through Google.
