I need some input on what my plan of attack should be for REG, as I’m sure a lot of you have been in my same shoes before.
I work in public, and tax season is…well, nuts. My original plan was to take REG end of the May, which should give me a good solid 6 weeks of study after tax season ends. I was also going to hit the books throughout tax season, with what little free time I have, just to familiarize myself with the content (read a few chapters, do some MCQs, etc). I look at it as an added bonus.
Let’s be real, there’s a good chance I wouldn’t be able to retain a lot of that info, but it might make my 6-week study plan a little bit easier if I’m familiar with some of those topics already.
Would that be beneficial, or would I just be wasting my time? Should I just forget about studying altogether during tax season, and try to keep my sanity?
It’s been almost three weeks since I opened my REG book, and it’s kind of odd. I feel like I’m slacking off. I’m worried that on one hand, if I just focus on tax season, it will be really hard to get into study mode afterwards for those six weeks. On the other hand, tax season is crazy, what little time I do have wouldn’t really be focused studying, more just like skimming through the material.
What say you?!
Or, since I’ll be taking FAR in August, maybe I could just skim through that content over the next few months to become familiar with some of those topics.
Decisions, decisions…
