Advice on scheduling to sit by end of the month…

    I went to schedule an appointment for REG and have a problem. The latest appointment available at a center near me is the 24th. That’s cutting it a little too close for comfort. There’s an appointment at a center two hours away on the 28th.

    Does anyone have any experience with just waiting it out and seeing if an appointment comes open late in the window? If people cancel all the time, then I think I’ll wait. If there are some of you that have tried this and ended up not being able to sit at all, I’ll go ahead and schedule the one at the center 2 hours away.

    Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

    Ou I don't know Katie. Sounds risky. What if you wait, nothing opens up, then your available spot at the 2 hour away prometric fills up. It's already mid-month. If I were you I'd jump on what ever you can find. The 2 hour away location will give you time to blare music and pump yourself up! lol

    @katie,

    I actually did that once. But I kept my other appointment, and kept checking each day for changes. I was prepared to sit on the earlier date, but then got lucky with an opening. It can happen, but you really have to be committed in your mind that you may have to just bite it and go early. It is a gamble….

    At the center I go to, I just learned that on the prometric site they show one side of the testing center as one location and the other side as another location. Both sides are usable for the CPA, I just never clicked on the second location, even though it is the same location, just a different side of the building. Hope that made sense!

    Wait, so do you mean you can have two appointments for the same section on the same NTS? If so, problem solved! I don't care about the $35.

    No, sorry, I knew I was confusing. You can't have two appointments on one NTS. I didn't explain myself well. I kept my original appt and gambled that a later time would come up. Got lucky..literally 2 days before I sat.

    Oh, I gotcha. Sorry. Ok, I think I'm gonna trust you two vets and go ahead and schedule. I feel kinda lucky I could even get the 28th in the first place. Thanks, guys. It's 30 mins from my semi-lonely dad anyway, so I'll just scoot on up to see him while I'm there.

    @katie

    Just want to make sure you checked both “locations”..i.e. both sides of the building before you schedule. I never paid attention to how there was more than 1 location in the same city. Maybe you already checked that….I just never knew that before. When I sat for Audit, my good old pal, Terry told me about that.

    Oh, yeah, I did. I've taken one section on the left and one on the right. Terry always seems like he's having a bad day when I see him. And dang he gets a little too close with that wand… he's hit a certain body part both times I've seen him, not in a creepy way, but in a “I'm not paying attention” way.

    Too weird. For some reason, he always chats me up. Usually the other guy does the wand thing. I really hate the wand thing!

    Go schedule the 28th!!!

    Well crap. It's gone, but the 26th is open here now, so I guess I'll split the difference. I'll keep watching like you suggested Yankee and see if I can get later.

    Thank you both!
