So i took REG and failed with a 68…. is this pretty bad or am I “almost there”?

I study with Becker… and my NTS for FAR expires in AUG ( i have not taken this one previously at all and just started chapter 2 this week)

What would you guys recommend for me to do?

I honestly don't recommend mixing a lot of review programs. I would say move on with FAR and come back to REG

    FAR-81
    BEC-84
    AUD-91
    REG-89

    I am really torn –

I want to take REG so that I will know by October, if I need to take it again or not, plus I do not want to lose all the information I have retained since I just took it on May 31….. so I am leaning on studying for REG starting on Monday….

On the second hand, I also want to give my best at FAR and I have to take it at the end of August…. but I am not sure if I will really have enough time to study for both REG and FAR and work during quarter close….  :-/

I just got my exam results for REG, and I passed with an 89. I had access to many study materials, so I can tell you from my experience, Becker is way off on REG.

I really like the Becker study material and layout for comprehension of the topics, but the exam threw at me very detailed and specific questions which I really didn't get out of Becker. I supplemented with the Bisk books, and the Wiley audio CDs and Wiley multiple choice software. I would say that Bisk was the most helpful book for REG (to me), along with the software and also even the cpaexamforfree website. The questions on that site were very specific and seemed very hard, but it turned out they were most similar to my exam.

I think it is important to go through as many multiple choice questions as possible, and if you get 1 wrong, make sure you go through the concept thoroughly and test it on several more multiple choice questions so that you are SURE you understand it.

yea I used Becker to study and than used Wiley to practice MCS as well… I would say I did majority of the Wiley questions and all of the becker questions… I am waiting for my score card to see if I did bad on the MCS or the sims.. because if I did bad on the Sims I would feel better since I was really thrown off on those.

Where do you get your score card? I passed all three of the other exams first try, but got a 73 on REG yesterday, so I haven't had to use that resource yet.

And FYI, all my other scores were mid-80s on the 2010 exams. I used the updated becker and I thought I had the material covered pretty well. But, as discussed above, I thought the test questions were much more detailed and complex than Becker. I think the sims are what got me.
