I don’t know how much I should know about this 1933 adn 1934 securities acts, the 1231 and 1245 recapture stuff is just insanely complicated and I don’t understand it. I also don’t under stand why sometimes cost – liabilities = AB and why sometimes Liabilities are ignored if they are less than the cost. Also as far as phasing out credits and amount of money that credits give what should I know. Some of my test problems for Gleim are asking me specifics about what phasouts start at and go to. Like 150k -160k AGI. DO I need to know that?

I don’t know how I am going to do or what I should study with my final time. It’s so much material and all so complicated.

I can tell you this, from experience, if there's something you don't understand fully and are kinda hoping won't be served up on the exam… Well, you can pretty much be sure that you're going to be staring at it when you click through to your first SIM. 🙂 Squirm now, or squirm later, but that ish is coming to test you!

I wish I had studied various filing dates a bit more, there are forms for estates and trusts and whatnot that get filed on different deadlines. This is something I glazed over because it wasn't a long concept, but was rather presented as a one sentence fact nugget.

Surely your MCQ's touched up on stuff from 1933/34's no?

    AUD - 75*, 88 done 5/14! (*exp)
    BEC - 74 , 77
    REG - 65 , 76 (10 point combooo!!)
    FAR - 69 , 75

I would def know Sec Act of 1933 and Sec Act of 1934, such as Sec 11, 10b-5, 18, etc

I would also know Sec 1231, 1245, 1250, like-kind exchanges, involuntary conversions, capital gains, ordinary income, etc

Reg is a beast; I'm going for it tomorrow, and feel unprepared as hell too. Just need to keep pushing forward.

    Good luck!

    REG - ✔
    AUD - ✔

I wouldn't spend time studying exact phase out amounts. Just my two cents. In all of the Wiley Testbank MCQ, I don't think any questions asked for specific phase out amounts that I recall.

5 days until I take REG need some last minute advice. I'm freaking out because I'm bombing some of these Sims with like 30s and failing research questions.

Can anyone break down 1231 and all that depreciation recapture stuff a little bit better for me. I'm also having trouble understanding some of the adjusted basis stuff for things like like-kind exchanges.
