72, 63, 72 – REG 2011 Study Materials!!!!

    So i have taken REG three times now, twice in 2011, and have yet to defeat this exam! I initially used BISK as it was covered through my firm and switched to the Yaeger HomeStudy passing FAR, AUD, and BEC on the first try. This last time i went through the new 2011 Yaeger Material, highlighted, wrote flash cards, and did the MCQ and SIMS twice. On all my REG tests it seems I cannot get outta the “weaker” column for the sims!

    That said, can anyone share their thoughts on the Becker Live Review Course or the Yaeger CRAM? Or if anyone has suggestions on how better study for simulations?

    I dont think you can prepare for the SIM with any review course. I used Wiley book for REG and find that the SIMs are too easy and simple compared to the real exam. I heard BECKER SIMS for REG is worse than Wiley book. In the exam, the SIMS are longer and wordy and you just have to know the topic or make an educated guess. I think you should just use whatever material you currently have and start from the beginning like you are taking it for the first time. Maybe you can add Jeff”s note just to be sure you understand the important concepts. Try not to highlight things that you read from the book but instead you TYPE it down.Lastly, I don't think a score of 72 is close to passing and I dont think a CRAM will help you. Instead of investing more money, invest more time to study and change your study plan.GL!

    Zizoty – Thanks for the input! I totally agree that the Wiley TBS were way more straight-forward and simple when compared to the actual exam. While I did highlight material when studying last time, I made it a point to write down/transfer all highlighted sections onto flashcards in an effort to ensure i understood the concepts. But, as you suggested I will definitely be going through the material as if it were the first time as well, thanks for the advice!

    Did you just use the Wiley material to study last time? Or do you have experience with the Becker Live Course or Yaeger Cram?

    I didn't use the cram or Becker, just Wiley and yaeger video. I spent a lot time on the Wiley test bank dvd and do all the Mcqs multiple times. Also allow yourself more time for the Sims since its 40% of the grade now. GL
