    How bad is a 66 on REG? Was I really that far away from a 75? The break down is as follows:

    Ethics = Stronger

    Business Law = Weaker

    Federal Tax Process = Comparable

    Taxation on Property = Weaker

    Taxation on Individuals = Comparable

    Taxation on Entities = Weaker

    MC = Weaker

    SIMS = Weaker

    Also why is my individual performace as a % is not stated and compared to the Passing Candidate Performance?

    A 66 means you still have some serious deficiencies with some of the material. I would watch (or rewatch) the lectures and basically go through the whole study process again. You will likely pick up more stuff your second time around.

    I'm not sure what you are asking in your last question. There are no percentages associated with your score. You got a 66, this is not a percentage. Its a score based on their scale. Your Weaker/Comparable/Stronger comparison is a direct comparison to candidates who scored a 75-80 overall on the exam.

    Hey me too! 😀

    It's such a strange test, the scores have some function of how the other candidates did as well. Maybe in a window with fewer passing scores, you would have been much closer.

    Restudy everything as if you never studied it before. You'll do better.

    Your test is not graded against other candidates taking the exam in the same window.

    Agreed with Minimorty. There is no specific curve with regards to how other people did in your testing period. The only thing that could be considered a curve is that each of the questions is statistically evaluated based on how past participants have done on them which gives them a difficulty rating. Obviously, higher difficulty questions are worth more points, and each testlet is adjusted based on how you do on previous testlets.

    That being said, if you're trying to convince yourself that you're close to passing with a 66 with a curve or without, you may be in for another rude awakening when you get your retake score back. In my opinion, a 66 is pretty far off. I think you probably need to start fresh and go back through all of the material and homework again, and be more detailed oriented when studying.

    dont look into that section comparison thing, its useless. Somebody I know was able to pass with being weaker on everything except individual tax (stronger) and comparable on SIMs. On one of my fails, I was stronger on half, comparable for the rest, weaker on SIMs and failed with a 71.

    cool story bro

    The comparison section is not meant to help you determine how your score was calculated. The comparison section is there to assist you in determining in which areas you have deficiencies. I dont understand why you would suggest the information is “useless.” If you fail an exam, you may want to pay attention to the sections you scored Weaker. Perhaps they will not be as heavily tested the next time, but are you willing to take that chance? You should make sure you have no (or minor) deficiencies entering the exam.

    When I got my 66 on Reg, for my next try I focused too much on the parts I was deficient on and crammed on the ones I was stronger in. So next round I was opposite with the breakdown! Brought me up only 3 “points”. Next time I will review them all equally, but spend more time re-learning my weaker sections.

    tzavala…

    Forget about the 66… Deal with it and walk it off.

    Now take the book, study, and pass. Think of it this way, it is not the first time you flunk a test! You just have to study better… Either your method of study isn't working or you didn't study enough.

    Make this 66 your motivation to stay at it and do your best.

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84

    There's simply no way that the pass/fail score % could be so consistent if there wasn't some sort of manipulation. Call it what you want, curve…manipulation….etc.

    But there is external manipulation beyond the selection of the questions and the increasing difficulty during the examination.

    No matter how hard that exam tomorrow is, I HAVE TO PASS IT!!! even if I have to leave my life in the testing center I will pass it!!!

    CPAPending, could you clarify your point? I don't get it. What's your reasoning?

    Meaning that if the scores were not artifically manipulated to keep the pass rate at a fairly consistent ~ 45%, there would be some testing cycles were the past rate was 20% and some were 80%.

    Since no one discloses the actual grading and testing process, we'll never be able to prove it. I believe that what might be a 70 in one testing cycle might be a 75 in another, depending upon what the aggregate test takers do. The better the aggregate test takers do in a cycle, the more questions you have to get right to pass. The worse the aggregate test takes do in a cycle, the fewer question are needed to pass.

    It seems like the range of passers is between ~42-53….I totally agree with CPApending….cardinalhoya is always asking for clarifications…lol…jk

    The fact of matter is that we'll never know what manipulation is done.

    However, I just don't see that without after the fact maniplulation, there wouldn't be a testing cycle where the entire group did really well or really poorly. Look at the consistency of the pass percentages, usually no large swings either way. IMHO the evidence of the lack of any outliers proves external manipulation.
