    Just need to vent so here goes…

    Just took AUD where everything was the “best” answer, effectively objectifying opinion, awesome ok whatever that's what AUD is

    Now I get to REG BLaw and If i see one more explanation about the Best answer I might throw my laptop out the window. I realize it's law and it's kind of a joke to expect anything less than clear as mud. But I was hoping for more clarity than AUD. Instead, the questions are more confusing, more irritating and the titles for this junk are counterintuitive. i.e: Statute of Frauds,

    And I feel like a total idiot because I have to partake in my own graduation (attended a small college that doesn't do December graduation ceremony) as well as my sister and brother-in-law graduate high school all within 2 weeks, so naturally I schedule REG for the first week of June with 2 weekends basically flushed with limited study time. So I'm trying not to freak out. Oh well, no one to blame but me. In hindsight, I think I should have scheduled BEC with all of the circumstances that I see now that I didn't see then

    @msquared17 How's study coming. It's been a hectic few days, still trying to finish extension returns. I might need to wait until after my children graduate this week end (5\5) and next (5/12) to schedule. I was thinking of June 10th. I am reading and writing notes though. I have not done any mcq's.

    How do you calculate gift tax attributable to appreciation? I'm basically confused about the denominator. Do you have to subtract the $14,000 exclusion from the FV of the gift? I've seen it done both ways.

    Any tips for studying BLaw. I'm actually looking forward to the tax stuff after this torture chamber of BLaw. It's just so much to remember and it just builds and gets more dense and Wiley only tests the differences which makes studying the general rule, which i would expect to be on the exam regularly, pointless for the purposes of their software.

    @boxwick, yes

    gift tax paid x (FMV – AB)/(FMV – 14000)

    “For gifts made before 1977, the full amount of the gift tax paid is added to the
    donor’s basis.” per college federal taxation textbook

    @tncincy – Hi! I've decided to slow it down and take the exam the July 2nd or 3rd. I need to balance family, studying, and work for the next few months. So, one chapter a week for me. Finished R1 last week and now working on R2. I also signed up for Becker's free REG Ready class that started today. I'm hopig this will be helpful.

    Can someone pls help me!

    Was studying individual taxation through becker.

    As per them, the medical expenses are taken as Itemized deduction to the extent they do not exceed 10% AGI and same is with ATM and hence, no adjustment is required for ATM.

    However, by going through NINJA threads and other websites including IRS. It says that medical expenses are taken as an Itemized deduction to the extent they do not exceed 7.5% of AGI and hence adjustment is required for 2.5%.

    Can you pls tell me which version is correct?

    Hey guys,

    Just wondering if anyone had any insight on this. I sit for REG on June 1st. I still have about a month left. I went through the entire becker book but feel as if I forgot a lot of the information in previous sections. Do you think a study plan involving just multiple choice questions and the final exam review from Becker is ok to pass? This is how I studied for AUD within 3 weeks and passed. Just wondering if anyone has done this for REG.

    Thanks
