2017 REG BECKER? (Retake)

Hi everyone. I took REG in February and scored a 73 using the old Becker material. I did not feel that great going into it and I wish I had more time to prepare/review. I also did not feel good after the exam and knew my score would be close one way or the other.

With that being said, I found the 2016 Becker material to do a good job in covering all areas and supplying a ton of MC/TBS to practice.

I am now restudying REG to take in April and the 2017 Becker material seems to be condensed and not dig as deep as it used to. There is not as many MCs it feels.

Does anybody agree or have an opinions on this? The last thing I want to do is study so hard trusting the materials I have and then that not be sufficient to pass the new exam.

If anybody is retaking REG using the new Becker after studying with the old, please let me know your thoughts on the changes.

I strongly agree with you, however, they added a lot more material in lectures and skills practice. I would trust their adjustments, as they are in contact with the AICPA and exam changes. Also, I am not 100% sure, but I know they broke everything into smaller sections. Ex, A1 in audit has 11 modules…. While it may seem like there are less MCQ's, it might not be a big difference. I think they just took out all the AICPA released questions.

will becker automatically send you the 2017 book if you already got the 2016 one? or do you have to pay out of pocket (if your firm paid for it originally?)

Thomas- I understand what you are saying breaking it up. The skills practice is a nice addition for sure, but I am just getting the sense that I am being presented less materials overall and I hope that is not dangerous for the new exam.

Accounting- I had to pay Becker $15 for a new book. That said, I ordered it 10 days ago and do not have it. They were “sold out” at the time. What a joke of a company for what they charge.

Yeah I've had the same thoughts, Ill be angry if I walk out of my next exam feeling like Becker did a worse job…. So far, I've felt well prepared for each exam.
