Hello everyone. I’m back with another question. So for any of you that have taken REG, would you say that BLAW was a heavily tested topic? The Blueprint says its about 10-20% of the exam, but yet NINJA has like 675 questions on it whereas it doesn’t even have half that amount for each of the other sections.

10 to 20 percent is probably accurate. If you have time it's worth reviewing but only if you are confident on the tax laws. You can pass without knowing b law but you won't pass if you don't have the taxation nailed down.

Pretty much what Laslow said. I would definitely review all the business law sections but don't spend too much time on it. The other four sections are more heavily tested. Plus, I don't think you'll see any sims on it.

Blaw makes up around 35% of Wiley's REG study material, which is insane.

I have not taken REG yet, but I have seen several posts here recently about people indicating that blaw was tested more heavily than they assumed it would. I think its one of those things like Governmental and non-profit on FAR. IMO, its way too much material to simply say its not a big deal.

My opinion – while you statistically CAN pass REG without studying Business Law, you won't. I wasn't all that strong in Tax so I actually counted on a strong score in Business law to carry me.

    FAR 04/11/2016 - 84
    AUD 05/12/2016 - 79
    BEC 07/06/2016 - 81
    REG 08/29/2016

I wouldn’t go in without having a good base in business law. You would have to do exceptionally well on everything else to pass and to me it’s not worth the risk for something that can be grasped pretty easily in a short amount of time.

I just took REG at the beginning of January. I felt that BLAW was heavily tested more than anticipated. If your thinking of skipping sections personally I wouldn't.

Crystal, did you feel like Becker's Blaw was suffice and a good representation of what is on the exam?

I had the same thought the two times I took REG.. how can it be so much material/ so many questions on Wiley and I guess Ninja and everywhere else too, given that its only supposed to be 10-20% of the exam.. both times I got a 73 and it was because I did not spend enough time on BLAW and each exam had more than enough of it tested on there. It is truly the equivalent of govt accounting for REG, it can help you get over the hump unless you know tax in and out.

I only got a 76 but I ran out of time and had to decide if I would do 675 b law questions or 675 tax questions. The juice was not worth the squeeze and law is more common sense then tax. If you have time, do b law. Yes, it will be tested.

I barely did any MCQ on Blaw and I got a 74. Ironically, I was stronger in Blaw on my score form…..and honestly I was shocked.

Rahee, I did feel that Becker had sufficient information. I just wished I would have spent more time studying the BLAW. Perhaps on the brigh side I still not received my grade. Fingers crossed.
