….okay, now that I got your attention 🙂

Can someone pleaseeee help me understand this statement, “…If the exam seemed easy or not as difficult that means you failed…if not, then you passed…”

    My questions:
*DO you think this statement is absolute or subjective?
**DO you think this statement lines up to your experience in taking these exams??
***DO you think it’s possible for someone to fully prepare and still feel semi-confident after leaving an exam??? or are you supposed to feel drained???

Because the fact of the matter is…you never truly know if you recieved a medium or a hard testlet right after the exam…

So…I would like to know how people felt immediately after the test versus their ACTUAL SCORES…

I’ll go first,I took REG at 8am today and I was surprised because my first testlet felt like a breeze. The second testlet was kind of difficult and then I couldn’t really tell with the last testlet. My TBS were kind of difficult…

Now it’s your turn…Don’t be shy…please share your thoughts…thank you so much for your participation 🙂

Edit* I felt like i failed in Q4, and failed with a 64. I felt like I aced REG on Saturday, will report back with my score.

@tacctfin11 you think so!? What do you mean?? Did the AICPA release something saying that it'll be less difficult? Did I miss something?! Is this normal???

Oh ok I just saw your edit. Let's hope for the best ..**crosses fingers**

I must be in the 1% because every test I took, I was honest with myself and was right about passing/failing.

    FAR-Thought I did well enough to pass…passed with a 76
AUD 1-Test was foreign to me, thought I failed…63
    BEC 1-Thought I did well enough to pass…passed with a 75
    AUD 2-Thought I crushed it…passed with an 84
REG 1-Was so upset after the test…failed with a 72
REG 2-Annoyed that I missed some, thought I was on the border…74
REG 3-Thought I crushed the SIMS, felt really good…87

I was relieved/tired after the exams. I just wanted to get them done since I had been studying for so long. I guess you really have to be honest with yourself. I always got annoyed seeing people who got 4.0s in school so scared they failed and end up in the 90s.

    FAR- 5/11/15 76!!
    AUD-10/31/15 63, 84!
    REG-7/12/16 72
    BEC-8/31/15 75!! Perfect Score!

@tcohle niceee explanation!! Do you attribute the failed exam scores to insufficient studying methods? How did you know if you were studying adequately ?

I took REG in Q4 last year and walked out knowing I failed. I knew I needed more time to study but my NTS was expiring so I had no choice but to take it.

I studied even more for my retake and still didn't feel good walking out, but at least think I have a shot this time. I did so many mcq's that I'm not sure what would be considered hard or medium anymore. Some of the hard AICPA released questions don't seem too bad so it's tough to gauge whether or not the exam questions are getting harder.

One thing I noticed is that people who've failed REG before are getting good scores in Q1. I'm praying I'll be one of them in a couple days 🙏🏻

    FAR: 75 Roger & Ninja (notes/flashcards/audio/MCQ)
    AUD: 73, 81
    BEC: 71, retake 8/29

Took Reg Q4 and thought I was gonna fail only because the SIMS were brutal and I wasn't prepared.

1st testlet was easy, how did I know they were easy? because it was like 1+1
2nd testlet was insane, how did I know it was difficult? because I didn't know sh**
3rd testlet was easy, how did i know it was easy? because it wasn't as hard as the 2nd testlet and I actually knew the answers

    SIMS: Freaking hard

Got a 76, go figure. I was planning when to retake in Q1.

Really hoping Q1 REG is “easier”. If I pass on Friday, I will buy everyone a shot.

I usually walk out feeling there's a 50% chance of pass and 50% of fail. In other words, no idea.

Just took REG today and felt totally drained. Don't feel like it tested any of my strengths/knowledge. Stuff I was nervous about for the test weren't even on the test? SIMS were rough. ahhhh. So guess we will see!

cracks me up how people talk about how “easy” the test was before they get their score back.. only to score below 75..

    pride comes before the….the…

    crap I forgot.

anyways..I knew I crushed the MCQ's as I was doing them, because everything that showed up was EXACTLY what I had been studying the past couple nights (lucky me).

the sims? basically me repeatedly stepping on rakes for 90 mins.

When I took BEC, immediately after, I felt good-not sure if it's because I was just relieved to be done, but felt good overall. By the end of that day I had convinced myself I failed and 2 days after that I bought my Becker AUD book and started studying because the anxiety was killing me. I got an 82, so in my personal experience, I think perhaps my feeling immediately after was indicative of how I did but best not think about that…

I get extra time because I was diagnosed with ADHD and also have a “slower processing speed” as I like to call it (something you may read through in 30 seconds may take me 2-3x longer to get through). I've passed 2 out of 3 exams I've taken since all that happened and I was placed on the proper meds (the one I failed… REG of course) but the last time I took it I knew there were some multiple choice questions I was hung up on and at least was able to narrow it down to 2 choices. As for the sims, I had probably 3 hours to complete them and looked up everything I could. I ended up with a 68. I wasn't sure and never am but I thought I'd be closer than that, especially with how much time and research I did for the sims (somehow I scored below standard on them). When I do pass I tend to get into a zone where I'm reading through every choice and can say “this is wrong because…. this is right because….” almost like I'm in a tunnel and it's all swirling around me. I don't like telling people anything when they ask after I take one because I'm superstitious but that's usually how I feel walking out when I pass. Sounds crazy, I know, but it's usually my barometer. Hopefully I can get into that zone on Thursday and nail REG before it changes. I got married last October, that did not make for any quality time to study so I had to sit out the Q4 window.

    BEC - exp 2/28/13 (crap)

My first time through FAR, I walked out thinking I failed but since I'd never taken the exam before, I wasn't sure what was a good enough performance to be considered passing. I wasn't shocked when I received the 67. When I sat the second time, I felt indifferent. I was just meh so a little shocked to see 82. So I guess I'm not one who feels the opposite way you actually scored.

BEC I left unsure. I knew some, I guessed at some. It was just going to be luck of the draw. It seems like each testlet there were 6-10 questions I was unsure of.
FAR after the 2nd testlet I knew I was doomed. I spent the rest of the exam trying not to cry.
REG This was a repeat of BEC I knew some and I missed some. I think it was the same range. Between 6-10 questions per testlet I was unsure of.

I'm now convinced they ask pretest questions that are unanswerable so you will have no way to leave the exam center feeling confident and have no idea how you did.

If I had to use one word to describe the way I felt after leaving the testing center that would be “resigned” the definition is perfect too “having accepted something unpleasant that one cannot do anything about”
