    Hey everyone,

Testing for REG on the 19th and was wondering if anyone took it yet this quarter. Without giving anything away, is there anything you were surprised that you saw? Alot of focus on the new changes?

    Thanks!

I took Reg on Tuesday (1/22). I know that it all depends what test you get but what I found shocking on mine was that they didn't test much new material. I will say that my exam was heavy on corp/partnership tax which is in line with the blueprint. Also was shocked that i didn't really need to know the phase outs. BLAW was about 20% on my exam as expected.

@Steven K do you mean the phase out amount were provided even in MCQ? if so, that would be huge relief!

I mean I had like 2 questions where you actually needed to know a phase-out applied. So if you think of all the phase-outs in the book (ie. DRD, Section 179, QBI, IRA, Homeowners exclusion, casualty losses, etc.), I only had 2 questions on all those topics combined which was a little disappointing considering I basically memorized all the phase out amounts.

Thanks @ Steven K. I took REG previously in September (with about 20 hours of study time and no effort at all) and failed miserably, but too noticed that my exam was very heavy in entity & b-law…
I take my exam again on 1/30, and lose my AUD score if I don't pass (what a freaking horrible month February will be).

Good to hear that the new material isn't tested heavily, although, I'm finding in my study materials that the materials are not significantly different than the old stuff. A lot of deletions, but not many additions.

@meg that's so crazy! but its good that you had some extra time to review!
@hopefulfor75 i agree! im using becker and the changes arent that drastic. Some important details have definitely been changed, and im sure theyll test us on those, but for the most part–the same basic concepts are the same.

But who knows what and to what extent the exam will test us!

Guys if I am stuck in time, and I haven’t started business law yet, which one you think I should focus my attention r7 or r8 (Becker)
Many of my friends just telling me to drop it and that’s based on there personal experience.
    Any thoughts?

@kakooakki, this is prob not the answer you want to hear but i feel like you need to do both 🙁 but i think doing the bankruptcy lessons first will be most beneficial since theyre shorter lectures than contracts and its just pure memorization.
