Hey guys, I can’t stop thinking about the reg exam i took today. I know for sure I got the research question wrong. Funny enough, the research question was my first sim and I think i spent a good 15-20 minutes on it before putting forth my best answer. But I knew it wasn’t the right answer.. because i found the answer randomly while looking through the AL for help on my very last sim. My question is, how much weight does the research question hold? I know they’re usually regarded as freebie points because they’re a lot easier than calc sims. I’ve always gotten the research question right on past exams and knowing that i missed this one makes me feel sooo terrible. I don’t know how i feel about the other sims.. they were hard and I dont think i got any of them 100% correct. So not feeling too great about the rest of the sims either. Is it possible to miss the research question and still pass? Feeling really upset about this 🙁

Don’t sweat it. You can definitely still pass by missing one question. Funny enough, I am waiting on reg too and for whatever reason I had two research questions. One felt impossible to find I had to give up after 30 minutes on it. I didn’t have any issues at all going through the audit or far research questions, but I couldn’t search through the irc for the life of me. The keyword searches never seemed to work the way you would think they do for the irc. Anyways, don’t give up hope, you definitely still have a chance.

Thank you! I attempted to use the keyword search to look for my answer and nothing that came up even remotely answered the question. Never had any issues with this before and it was when i was just clicking through the irc that found it. Im such an idiot that it didnt occur to me later on to just do it the old fashioned way..

It is possible to pass while missing the question but it is also possible to fail. That question might be worth a point (or however the hell the test is scored) and can be the difference between a 74 and a 75.

You have all the chance to pass exam even if you missed the research sim. I believe Research sim is the lowest weighted sim and does not matter if you do good on heavily weighted sim. I passed Audit even after i missed the research sim however i failed it when i got two research sims and got both of them right. So i would not worry too much.

@hdcpa do you feel you did good in mcq ? Your experience on research is similar to mine .
Somehow I know a guy who had 2 research in Q2
and failed with wide margin hence I am anxious.
How u did otherwise?
