I really hate that I waited 5 years after college to finally sit for my first exam.

MCQs felt easier than all of the review questions I did, but did feel each testlet got a bit tougher. Probably spent too much time both going back through the MCQ and getting bogged down on one of the sims.

The research sim – fairly sure I got it right. 2 of the other 5 felt OK and 1 I know I screwed up. Hope that one was a pretest.

Took REG because our firm is primarily tax work. Thought I’d be most comfortable. All of my practice sims were easy because I didn’t have to do any research. So, I probably didn’t manage my time very well – I had to rush through the last two sims yesterday. Weird for me, because I used to have to slow myself down for tests like this. Tried to make an effort to check all of the MCQs – probably my downfall.

But without having ever gotten results before, I could talk myself into a 65, or I could talk myself into an 85. Really no idea how I feel about it.

    REG (2/27/14): 82
    BEC (5/30/14): 90
    AUD (8/18/14): 88
    FAR (11/17/14): 81

    I figured I got either a 74 or a 76 after I took AUD. I was about 10 points low!

I hear it's very normal to not really know how you did. If you feel like you failed, you are probably comparing yourself to 100%, and since the exam isn't graded that way, it makes it very hard to judge.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

Yes, I think it's normal to not know how you did. I've walked out feeling every which way, and my scores are actually very similar to one another in my sig.

I've also managed to feel one OK when I walk out and then convince myself I failed. Just put in the work, do the MCQs and SIMs, and don't think about it until you get the results!

Reading another71 actually made me more nervous waiting for results lol

    AUD - 7/5/13 - 93
    FAR - 8/24/13 - 91
    BEC - 11/30/13 - 92
    REG - 2/24/14 - 91! DONE!

@jennknee – awesome scores! Would you mind sharing your strategy for REG? How many weeks you studied, methods , etc…

@megasaurus: i couldn't figure out how to do a private message? not sure if there is an option. don't mean to hijack the thread…

basically, i don't know what advice i could give you that you didn't already know. my routine is a little unorthodox too, and may not be the desirable way to study.

i studied approximately 7 weeks. i would say that i spent 2-5 hours every day, 7 days a week during this time.

i listened to some ninja audio on my commute to work (20 minutes) and during the day if i had the time. i only had jeff's sample for individual taxation but it really helped. if you can afford it, i would recommend you buy it. i don't practice what i preach, but i recommend you read the book. i generally don't read the book and actually hammer into mcq questions right away. yes, on topics i don't know about. it doesn't matter. i also have little patience for videos and don't watch them.

my wiley test bank expired during the middle of my studies, so i just used 2013 becker test bank, cpareviewforfree, and fast forward academy. i did this because i don't have much money. i don't think becker is the best or anything like that, wiley test bank was just fine for far & aud along with the cpareviewforfree. i just got a good deal from a friend for becker so i used it for bec & reg. you can use any test bank, just do the questions over and over.

i also use cpareviewforfree app because it's $10 on my phone. conceptually, i actually loved the app because it focuses on concepts (especially for business law) but not numbers (which aren't really heavily tested in terms of phase out, etc.) also recommend ninja flash cards. even glancing at them for 10 minutes a day really helped.

the real core is hammering out multiple choice questions. i literally guessed on questions, read the answers, and then pieced together the concepts this way. it is kinda the hard way, but if you learn it like this, you would probably be all set.

i would do at least 100+ questions a day. if you count all the methods of questions (cpareviewforfree app, becker, fast forward academy), probably at least 200 questions a day. so there you have it. the only real advice is put in the time, do the multiple choice questions and learn them well. also, try to practice sims as much as you can.

I left AUD certain I would have to sit again. I got my best score of the four. It was my first exam and I had NO IDEA how to process what had just happened to me!

I was confident I passed BEC and was disappointed in my score.

REG left me in a total painc — I really through I failed.

And The Beast FAR… I was *pretty* certain I passed but I knew that one was my crap-shoot because it was the piece farthest from anything I have any practical experience in.

Bottom line: You just never know!

I thought I got at least 90 for my BEC exam. I felt awesome about mcq and I scored stronger on them. I spent 1,5 on wc, I knew the subject and still scored weaker. Well English is my second language, maybe that's why((

    FAR 85
    AUD 83
    BEC 76
    REG 90
