Normal to have absolutely no idea how you did?

I really hate that I waited 5 years after college to finally sit for my first exam.

MCQs felt easier than all of the review questions I did, but did feel each testlet got a bit tougher. Probably spent too much time both going back through the MCQ and getting bogged down on one of the sims.

The research sim – fairly sure I got it right. 2 of the other 5 felt OK and 1 I know I screwed up. Hope that one was a pretest.

Took REG because our firm is primarily tax work. Thought I’d be most comfortable. All of my practice sims were easy because I didn’t have to do any research. So, I probably didn’t manage my time very well – I had to rush through the last two sims yesterday. Weird for me, because I used to have to slow myself down for tests like this. Tried to make an effort to check all of the MCQs – probably my downfall.

But without having ever gotten results before, I could talk myself into a 65, or I could talk myself into an 85. Really no idea how I feel about it.

    REG (2/27/14): 82
    BEC (5/30/14): 90
    AUD (8/18/14): 88
    FAR (11/17/14): 81

Welcome to the CPA exam. Some think they passed but failed, some think they failed but passed, and so on. I took FAR for a second time yesterday and I really do not know how I did. The first and second testlets were very tricky and the last testlet was a lot easier. As far as the sims go, I think I got partial credit for 3 of them and I feel like I got the research question right. You just never know with these exams and it also depends on how well others did, as our performance is compared to theirs. Hoping we both passed though!

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 88!!! DONE!!!!!!!!
    BEC - 76
    REG - 77

    never, never, never give up

Going to be difficult to wait for these results.

When I walked out of the test, I just immediately wanted to take it again. If I had managed time a little better, I could've really felt good about my chances.

Instead, I think I probably got only about 60% of the sims correct. Really hope that is enough.

Also, really wish I knew how they graded sims. Each tab equal? Each answer?

    REG (2/27/14): 82
    BEC (5/30/14): 90
    AUD (8/18/14): 88
    FAR (11/17/14): 81

That's part of the joy the CPA exam brings 🙂 In my experience, if I thought I passed, I failed. If I thought I failed, I passed.

    BEC - 68, 75 (2/3/14)
    AUD - 75 (11/30/12)
    REG - 73, 75 (10/8/12)
    FAR - 78 (8/31/13)

    DONE!!! Waiting for License!!

The wait is horrible..Nope, one sim does not count towards your grade and the other are weighed based on difficulty.

Don't be upset you waited 5 years after college. I waited 12 years after college, a wife and two kids. Then I did it. Better late than never. And no one ever knows how they did walking out … that's why the wait is as bad, if not worse than the exam. I've had friends thing they got in the 90's and got in the 60's. And vice versa. It's like a crap shoot.

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

Tootsie hit the nail on the head! I have sat for multiple exams, and thought I passed but failed. I walked out of AUD with a smile on my face dreaming of a high 80 low 90 score, and found out it was only a 76! I was happy to receive a passing grade, but had a little disappointment. Like I have said many times:

The CPA exam is like a tootsie pop, “How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? The world may never know!”

    CPA EXAM: DONE!!!!
    Ethics Course: Passed
    Application Mailed: 3/16/15
    Professional Conduct Exam: 97
    Certification Date: 4/2/15!!!
