I just walked out of REG, i flagged around 8 on each testlet, and i coulnt figure out any of the sims except the research questions. Any one have any tips on how to go about studying for a retake? I mean i completly bombed this test, i used Beckers and ninja mcq’s. I have did thousands of questions and i see that i was no prepared neither did i truly understand alot of things. For example Beckers briefly touched on Liquidations in regards to corporations. Well my luck their was so many questions. Any one have any advice on how to restudy, any advice would be realy helpful. Any one had a terrible score and then passed after, i would love to hear your story.

i hear you!!! took REG today as well. I thought i studied hard enough for it but i couldn't seem to be able to answer any of the sims. the level of difficulty was not there but they were very specific, which made it the worst!!! crossing fingers for a miracle!

Liquidations was actually a pretty important topic in Becker IMO. If you need to retake, I would say make sure you study chapters 1-4 IN DEPTH. So in depth that you know everything (including the lightly covered topics). Any one of these small topics in Ch 1-4 can end up being a SIM… and then it will not seem like such a small topic.

While 5-8 are also important, these are the chapters I would focus only on “major areas”, skim the rest, and then get back to Ch 1-4… yes you will see lots of MC from Ch 5-8 but if you miss a handful it wont be a big deal.

Hi Everyone! I also feel decimated by the SIMs. I took REG today too. I actually didn't think the MC were horrible (well I should preface that once work got in the way I was forced to skip business law — which hurt. It was very well represented on my exam) – but all the tax questions were not so bad. BUT THE SIMS.

I am still speechless. I felt so frustrated that I couldn't figure out anything with the AL. I think if I could have had a decent showing on the SIMs I may have passed.

Did anyone else get questions about when tax returns are due with automatic extensions for a variety of entities?
It was a sim and it totally screwed me up. I really only remember Becker talking about extensions once. Certainly not something I would need to memorize. The literature didn't have the answer, other than the number of months for an auto extension for c corps.

Took REG yesterday too. I also due to everything going on was forced to skip the business law sections, but studied well in 1-4 on Becker. I agree, MC weren't awful, I flagged the law ones and then went back to them after I got all the tax MC answered. I don't think the law ones were too awful, looking back I got a lot right just taking the time to read through them carefully.

BUT THE SIMS.

My god.

Let's all hope for a Christmas Miracle.
